Congrats.. I have the same date as you. IF this hurricane does not ruin everything. I am suppose to do my ekg, x-rays, and blood work on Tuesday the 16th. Not sure if Houston will be open and/or my job will let me off to do it. God Bless you too.

Romona, I know just how you feel. I was just telling my Mom that I'm not really stressed about the surgery itself, but I am worried that I'll go through all of this and I'll still be where I am right now... fat and unable to move. All we can really do is come here to voice our fears, read others stories and solutions, and know we are going to succeed.

wow... mine is the 24th too and i'm hyped up!
i am going today for consent..
yay!
as far as the weight.. well, i ended up gaining 7 lbs at my last visit..
my surgeon was not happy with me at all..
he didnt yell at me, but he didn't coddle me or sugar coat anything.
he was to the point, either you lose back to where you started from
or i am not doing the surgery.
well, i am hard headed.. i ended up gaining another 3 lbs before getting a hold of myself..
i did low carb for the past almost 3 weeks and i'm back at where i was..
but you know what got me to thinking about getting into action?
i started thinking about it in weeks.. i knew i had to meet the doc again today
so by the time i got it together, i realized i didn't have time to make many changes..
and i didn't want to have to go through the process again..
you can do it!
13 more days! yay!!!

WOW, I HAVE BCBS ALSO, THERE ONLY REQUIREMENT FOR ME WAS THE DREADED 6 MONTH SUPERVISED WEIGHT LOSS. THE RECORDS FROM YOUR OB DOCTOR SHOULD BE ENOUGH, BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CALL YOUR INSURANCE TO BE CERTAIN.

hey shonda im having the rny its not that bad iu promise i have medicaid as well and i never had to do a 6month diet thing all i neede was a letter for clearance and they approve it fast

My surgery date is September 30,2008. I can't wait. This coming week 15 th-19th I have my ekg and my xray and go to my Primary Doctor for the go ahead. Then the week of 22nd-26 I go finise with Dr. Avana for my pre opt talk and on September 30th I start my new life. If you are a praying person, Say one for me Thanks and GOD BLESS
