Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I am three weeks out and feeling great, so hang in there, it does get better. Quick comment, my doc prescribed Lunesta (a sleeping pill) in my prescriptions to be filled as I was being released from the hospital. Maybe call your doc and ask for him to prescribe a sleeping pill for you to help get you through the hard nights. Best of luck to you.
all is great now tho..yes one day at a time...i as of last week can sleep on my stomach--thank goodness!!!!

I'm new to the site. I am scheduled for Lap Band Surgery on 9/24/08. My doc started me on the liquid diet early. I'm 3 days in, and it has not been easy to say the least. Congratulations to all who have had their surgery, and best of luck to those who are waiting like me :) I'm very excited to be on the losers bench!
I welcome all insight and advise.

Bic, I did the same thing between the seminar and my first Dr appointment, and I gained 10lbs. It was just so overwhelming to think I would never again eat certain foods that I had to get them in just one more time, which actually ended up being more like 10 more times . Half of my excess weight is from medications I was put on for pain control and the other half is just form some good old fashion pigging out. It does seem alot harder to lose the medication weight than the food weight, I just hope this is going to help with that.
Perry, I'll be drinking right along with you, it seems to be getting easier as I go along. I'm kind of nervous about letting my stomach determine when I eat, what if I read the signals wrong and it's really my brain up to its old habits. I think I'll do better with set times and set amounts of food so I don't have to guess, but that isn't really going to teach me control is it. I don't know, I think I'm over thinking this and just starting to freak out because it is getting so close and becoming kind of "in your face". Maybe I'm just nuts and it should be my brain getting fixed. LOL
Amanda, glad to hear you're one of us. I'm using the sf carnation breakfast drink and they aren't too bad. I don't understand why each Dr has a different pre-op diet either, you would think there would be a standard they would each follow. As for the avatar if you go to the "user setting" on the top left (it's right beside the first post in a thread) it will give you the page to add an avatar picture and your signature.
I'll be keeping good thoughts for all of you!

It's funny to eventually realize what real huger feels like. I've just been experiencing that, too, and it drives home the need I have for this procedure. I don't want to be ruled by food any more!
Good luck to everybody!
