My Sugery Date is also on September 15th!!! I am also on a liquid diet, Ughh. I have to be on the slim fast low carb. And it is making me sick. I had my pre-op testing and all done on Thursday the 4th. I wonder why some of us have to go weeks, and some like myself only 10 days and then some just a couple days? I know my nut said that this was to shrink my liver so it would be easier to get out of the way while in surgery. So I have been so scared to go off the liquids afraid they would get in there and then have to end up opening me up due to me not following the doctors directions. But it isn't that I want to really eat. It is just that I am staying sick at my stomach due to the slim fast. I guess I need to call my nut Tomorrow and see what I must do. But only a week whoooo whoo!!! I hope each and everyone of you have very great surgery and recover well. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had my surgery on the 5th. So sorry that you are having a difficult time. Remember one day at a time, things will get better. I am up early due to discomfort but I was only told to take tylenol for the pain. Get well soon.

I am home from having my surgery. I am feeling o.k. just a bit tender and tired. It is really important to stay hydrated....so sip,sip,sip your little heart out and walk walk walk because trust me it will get things moving and you will feel better. I'll save you all a seat on the loser's bench and it will be cosy,,,,,good luck.

Hi. I just read your blog again about your 'clear liquid diet" I see you can have Isopure, New Whey, or Nectar..Are these powders? Can you have the flavored kinds such as chocolate or vanilla on the "clear liquid " phase? What are toilet drops??

I have isopure liquid. But, I think isopure and injury mixed with water are OK pre -op. Post Surgery the liquids I was given from the cleavland clinics list of acceptable choices are : Keto Milk- 1 scoop, ultimate locarb whey 1 sc, Zero Carb Isopure 3 sc 50 gr of protein, Myoplex Lite Powder 1 pkg 25 gr pro, Liquids protein Atkins 1 can 20 gr pro, Ultra Pure Protein 12 oz 35 gr protein, Zoic 1 can 21 gr pro, EAS Carbense 1 can 25 gr pro,
EAS Myoplex lite 1 can 25 gr pro, Slim Fast lo carb 20 gr pro, isopure 20 oz bottle 40 gr pro. All of the above except for Slim Fast (2 carbs) have 1 or less total carbs.

Thanks. That does not sound like a "clear liquid" diet..but maybe it is considered a 'liquid' diet..just not clear ,and that's all your Dr. requires? I need to know if I can have any of the protein mixes even chocolate on a clear liquid diet..I'm confused..Well, I'm just sticking to jello and Popsicles and broth today then..Good luck on Tuesday.

my surgery is on tuesday and i'm on the lliquid diet and i was told to have 4 of the hmr 800 protein shakes a day and i can have one glass of juice or veg juice a day ... i have one yogart or 4 0z of cottage cheese a day and all the sugar free popsicles and jello i want .... i hope that helps ...

Thanks! Ok, so is Isopure powder , say chocolate, when mixed with water considered a clear liquid? How about unjury powder? How about Champion Whey? I guess I'm asking if any powder protein is mixed with water, is it considered a clear liquid? I am to have clear liquids for 2 weeks after surgery. So most of my meals will be powder protein mixed with water??

I as well right at the moment feel like I am more obsessed with food than anything else. I have been getting in my "lasts", that I can never have again for instance bacon, enchiladas, all the fattening chinese food that I like, some chocolate deserts I have not had for a long time, etc. My very last fattening meal will be Friday night for my son's birthday which will consist of homemade pizzas and cake. Prior though, I never really had a problem with overeating, the majority of my weight has come from healh issues I have dealt with over the years which has piled on the weight. I plan to stick to my doctors recommendations of what foods I can have and what foods I cannot have post op. I am bound and determined to lose this weight, because of the medical issues I have that I am so worried about coming back to haunt me in the future with regaining weight.
Yes, only 1 week left!! Come this time next week, I will be sitting in the hotel sitting on the pot all day then off to the hospital at midnight for check in lol. I cant wait! NOT! Oh, wait, let me make that clear lmao, I cant wait for surgery, I can wait all day and forever to sit on the pot lmao.
