Topic: Hard Time with Restricted Diet
I started my 2 weeks liquid/ restricted diet on Monday and it has been HELL! I do really well during the day, but the first night I stopped for Japanese food and then last night I had ice cream and then Cheez-Its. The good new is those were the last things left in my house to tempt me; however, I don't know if I can do this for another 11 days! I will take any ass-chewing, suggestions, information- ANYTHING to get to September 29th! And I know the whole 'you've got to do it- no one can do it for you'/ 'put your mind on something else when you get tempted' / 'keep your eye on the prize'- I know all that- but the last 2 nights I have been truly HUNGRY! HELP!

Even though my insurance is picking this up, I did notice that my doctor has advertisments for "care credit" which allows you to finance your surgery.

Also, when you do find a surgeon, ask him if he is willing to give "insurance rates" to your surgery.  Meaning that he might charge 30K for a surgery, but insurance pays him 18K--he might let you have a discount.  Best of luck to you and I hope you will find everything that you need!

Jennifer,
You mention Vitamin E - what about the E that is in a multi vitamin? I don't take E alone, but I am pretty sure it is in my multi...
Thank you for this info. My surgery is a week from today and I see my surgeon tomorrow so I can get last questions answered and final instructions.

Ouch! I've broken my wrist twice when I was younger. I wouldn't let it stop you. As the previous poster said, you'll be off work and recovering anyhow.
Good luck! My surgery is the day after yours. I'll be thinking about you.
