Hi Stacy... sounds like you are right on track.... be proud of yourself for the accomplishment.. there are a lot of different things that could effect the rate of your loss compared to your friends.. like did she have more to lose than you? her genetic make up... don't be so down and hard on yourself... You are doing an awesome job!

Topic: RE: BLood pressure
Hi Joe, My blood pressure has come down significantly. I was on 2 meds prior and it was still running a tad high--I am now 2 mos off meds and it runs perfect 120/80.
If you are not satisfied with your physicians response--make an appt with your primary care doc, or a cardiologist. It is best you know if your mind & heart that everything is o.k.

I just asume everyone loses differently. I lost my first 60 pounds right off the bat almost before getting ot of the hospital or thats how it felt though it was not quite that quick, but 60 pounds was gone and done with before 2 months, now I am down a total of 85 pounds and the last 25 pounds have taken 2 to 2 nd a half months, some times I dont lose anything at all for three or more weeks then I ahve a small spurt of weight loss then it stops again. I have been told that as our body heals from the initial surgery usually at three months out it begins resisting losing the weight. I have my own theories about that, I honestly feel that the body remembers the plateaus of weight gain, I can remember my plateaus somewhat and they seem to coordinate very well with the plateaus I am having in the reverse. SO every time when I was gaining weight that I managed to hold my weight at a certain level for a few months before continuing the weight gain, seems to be where my body resists losing the weight on the way back down. But for whatever reasons, people just lose weight or gain it Iimagine at differing rates. Its easy to get frustrated but my advice is just be happy for the weight already lost and consider any further weight loss to be gravy< oh bad choice of words> well not gravy lets say any additional weight loss from here on out is splenda on the top. If you feel healthy, and are continuing to exercise and lose inchs then I woudl say dont sweat it. I can honestly say the amout of weight I carried did not bother me early as much as the size I had become. if I had been told I could lose inchs and not lose weight at all I would have probably been very happy with that outcome. remember muscle weighs more than fat, so your exercise wil have a dampening effect on the weight loss but a nice effect on the inch decrease.

I get in about 20 to 40 oz of water a day, plus about another 20 to 30 oz of other fluids like 1% milk, cofee or tea, so I dont think I am dehydrated. I was ok with it at 90/60 but this drop to 90/50 just has be a bit concerned. thanks for the response.
Topic: RE: Bozo no more!!! Except for the hair!
Hi Janee
Thanks for the chuckle
I too, am losing my hair. I HATE it.
I, also am in a size 12 dress and a size 8/10 stretch pants, 14/16 jeans.
The other day I was looking in the mirror and saw what I thought was a white spot near my crotch. Hard as I tried, I could not see where it was on the pants. Well, low and behold it was light shining through my legs from behind! I haven't see THAT in .. well, forever!
I have bones I never felt coming through. I turned over in bed
and it actually hurt because of my hip bone poking me! And laying on my side, I could feel every rib.. it was kinda scarey at first
but I guess it is normal.
What fun it is noticing changes in our bodies and shrinking each month.
Congratulations on your success!

Hi Stacy
I totally understand your frustration. When that was happening to me at 2 and 3 months post op, I decided NOT to watch my weight - to concentrate on exercise, water, protein and I measured myself 1 x a week. I was losing inches when the weight did not come off.
I also checked with the nutritionist to make sure I didn't forget some of the rules of eating and drinking. As we progess, I think we sometimes forget the fundamentals.
If it makes you feel any better, I only lost about 20 lbs in the first 2 months when everyone was losing way faster. Then I started to pick up speed. You were way ahead of me then and I was envious of all of you!
You will lose more! Just keep on keeping on!
