L - frozen low carb meatloaf with broccoli (I ate all of it which was kinda scary! 8oz meal)
D - jumbo shrimp again and 5 french fries
Water still not what it should be...48oz
Topic: RE: How many calories??
All right, as usual my answer is so much more than anyone elses...even though I see my nutritionist every two weeks and she says I am right on target.
I average 1,000 calories a day and 60g of protein. As of last Friday, I am 16 weeks post-op and have lost 71 lbs.
The only thing I can think of that may make mine so different is that my surgeon and nut do not have a policy of no carbs. So I do have a diet that includes good carbs which do add up.
Just my 2 cents.

Topic: RE: Happy Valentine's Day !!
I'm not sure what my "secret" is .... but to be honest, I may not be eating enough, each day.
I work in the office of a huge warehouse. So I try to walk laps around the office every day. I also work out twice a week at an exercise bed place. I try to get in all my liquids and my vitamins, etc. Protein I am still working on. And, to get into my apartment, I have to go up/down 23 steps every day.
I dont know if any of that is "the secret" or if it is something else ... but that's all I do. Now, at first, I was getting sick quite abit -- about 3-4 weeks out. And I did have to have 2 endoscopies ... maybe that helped?
But, thanks! I am feeling good now -- thats all that matters! (just stuck on a plateau for about a week)

Topic: RE: How many calories??
Hi Kim
I have just been wondering the same thing. Me and my friend went through the gastric bypass surgery on the same date and she is only eating 300-400 calories per day while I am getting in 700-800 calories. She is losing sooo much faster than I am and I was wondering if I was eating too much. That doesn't seem to be the case. I am focusing on protein and trying to get in at least 60 grams per day.
Good luck to you all

Before pre-op diet -> 304

Topic: RE: HELP! Abdominal Workouts?
Before surgery, I decided I was going to do everything in my power to be successful. One of those things was to join a gym and get a trainer. I started out by using Google, putting in search terms like "personal trainer" + my city. That got me lots of hits. Then, I added bariatric to the search and found my trainer. He had worked with WLS patients before, and that made me feel more comfortable. Also, it ended up that he was in the process of opening a new studio 2 minutes from my office! It was all too lucky (providential), so I went for it. It is certainly not cheap, but I've cut back other expenses to make it happen. I signed up for 3 1-hr sessions/per week for 1 year.
It's going really well so far. I print out my FitDay diaries every week for him to review and give feedback. He knows when to up the intensity and push me and when I've gone far enough. I work very well with the accountability, and I feel healthier and stronger than I have in years. Of course, I'm building lean muscle mass, so my weight loss (by the scale) isn't as dramatic as some people here, but I feel I'm doing what I need to do for me.
We generally focus on one or two major muscle groups each day and do ab workouts every day. For example, Friday I did legs. Today, I did back and biceps. Wednesday will probably be chest, triceps, and shoulders. That way, I completely fatigue one muscle group during the workout, but it gets several days to recover before we hit it again.
Good luck!
