thanks for the help. i eat alot of protein in the way of low fat cheese, skim milk(low carb, has more protien) cottage cheese, meat meat more meat.... no real secret. i eat only low or no carb food. i have always been a big water drinker so that isn't a problem. i walk the treadmill, inclined, i ride my exercise bike and i have an ablounger, this was the best investment, can't do a crunch to save my life so this makes it easy. i have very little sagging skin from my belly, trust me there should be a ton of it, so i know that this helps alottttt. i climb stairs all the time now.i also drink the protien shakes occassionally. you are doing great with your weight loss also, so keep up the good work. if you have any other questions you can e-mail me at [email protected]'d love to chat with someone who is close to my surgery date. i like to hear how other's are doing. good luck. nan

I think Curves is great. If I could do it anyone can. They have about 11 machines set up with steppers between each one. You do a machine for 30 seconds then the tape will tell you when to go to the next station which would be the stepper. You keep changing every 30 seconds until you go around twice. This with your stretch when you are finished is your 30 minute workout. Everyone does the same circuit. The faster you work the machines the more difficult they are to do. I try to get there 3 times a week but sometimes I can't then I go for a long walk. I will be 4 months on the 21st and am down 55lbs. Lisa B 10/21/04- 313/258

Hi Audrey, At curves you move at your own pace. There are 12 machines with a platform between each of them. You just stand on the platform and move to the music. Every 30 seconds you will hear a voice say change stations now. You then go from the platform to the machine beside it and do the next 30 seconds there and so on around the room. I had to start out real slow but have increased my speed and strength already after only a week. I go 3 times a week but you can go more or less. What ever you feel is right for you. I found it a very pleasent setting. No fancy work out cloths. Just jeans and tee shirts or what your comfortable in. We have women ranging in age from 15 to 75. One lady rides in on her hoveround and does just the set down machines. One of the best things is all the machines are stand up or setting. I don't have to get down on the floor. I can't get up on my own yet. If you need more info please e-mail me. Barbara

Congratulations! Hooray for you...You rock!!! My comment is about Curves. I am thinking about joining but no nothing about the regimin. Do they start off with a beginners class and how many times a week do you go and for how long a duration do you do? Is it dancing movements and machines? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Audrey

Congratulations on your amazing weight loss. I had my LapRNY on 10/26/04 and started at 400 lbs and am now down to 329.75 and sometimes in a week the scale won't move but I have lost inches and gained muscle. Muscle weighs more then fat...can you believe that? Anyway, I hope that helps to answer your question somewhat as to why you haven't lost in two weeks. May I ask you about your diet (protein, carbs, and liquid) and exercise? You seem to be doing super great and I would love to know your secret. What are you eating to accomplish your daily protein and liquid requirement and to avoid all those carbs out there? What type of exercise do you do. I try and walk on the treadmill every other day and I do some swimming and water exercises per week. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am finding it hard to get all my daily protein in the form of food and find myself needing protein shakes to accomplish this. Thanks and hope to hear from you. Audrey

How do you see losing 96 lbs in 4 months as trouble? Am I missing something? I've only lost 53 lbs since 10/5 and I'm grateful for every ounce lost. I've plateau'd for MONTHS. Good luck with those pesky 4 lbs... Count your blessings
