Well hello everyone! I have lost 70 pounds, I believe I am doing great, I have only thrown up three times and that was over eating to fast. pretty much I can tolerate red meats, seafood, toasted breads and wraps. Can't tolerate chicken, pork still haven't tried raw veggies or salads as my surgeon said not till six months out. I always do protein first and try to get at least 40oz. of water a day, I do a protein shake every other day or a protein bar. I eat Total high protein cereal almost every night to meet my protein needs and my hair is following out quite a bit. I have been using this shampoo called vitatress w/ biotin by Nexxus and it seems to be helping. I don't do formal exercise but I am definetly more active, I go bike riding and walking especially on the weekends, before I couldn't walk from the parking lot to the front of a store, now I can walk for hours and feel great! Good Luck to everyone! , Mayra

Hello Jennifer, I love that name, my granddaughter's is Jennifer May. I try not to get to discuraged with the slow loss. My surgeon told me light weighters lose slower but are more likely to make their goal. I hold on to that thought very tightly and keep plugging along. Do you take your measurments? I have watched mine go down each month and that helps keep me on track. Barbara

I must say I'm happy with my work out at Curves. I didn't think I would do that well. I made it all the way around the room twice!! For some one thats spent the last few years having to shop using a ride on cart and having to do the supper dishes in two sets because I couldn't stand up that long. I guess I'm braging , opps sorry. Its been a feel good day, Barbara

hi there pre op wt 283 height 5ft 8 (approx) current weight 220.5 total loss 62lbs surgery oct 22nd i am eating anything just alot smaller quantities. I tolerate everything meats, milk and sugar in coffee. I get to the hill for some snowboarding about once a week. I know i need to up the excersize but alas a 10 hour backshift with three kids leaves me working and sleeping. So the weekends i usually head to the hill to get in excersize. I always try to pick out the protien first. I limit my carbs and use the ketosticks to check for ketosis. This seems to help keep me in check as that stick wont turn color if i eat too many carbs. Well thats about it kindest regards deborah gale

Hi all, I am down 47 1/2 pounds since surgery on Oct. 26, 2004 and I have lost 37 1/2 inches as well. I have the measurements taken every 4 weeks, so it is nice to see the inches decrease. I get at least 50-60 grams of protein in a day, I drink at least 48 ounces of water a day and some days I can do 64 ounces. I drink at least 2 cups of fat free milk a day as well. I eat normal and healthy, the difference being the quantity. I exercise every day but Sunday's, I do Curves and the treadmill & elliptical at the local Y. I do compare myself to others, which sometimes is such a bad feeling knowing that I haven't lost as much as others, I started at 308 pre-op and I am down to 260 1/2 now. My highest weight recorded back in May of 2001 was 372 pounds. Kind of amazing when I see my before and after pictures, I just need to add some to this site.

Hi everyone!! I have a very picky pouch!! I eat a lot of chicken and fish. I can not eat ANY food that has grease on it. I throw it up every time. Can't eat bread. Only red meat I have tried is lean ground hambuger in Chili Soup. I drink lots of milk. I have an occasional soda. I like diet cherry 7-up. Raw vegies still don't sit well in my pouch no matter how long I chew them. I do well with salads. I had surgery 10/04/04. So far I have lost 110#. I joined Curves 2 weeks ago and that has seemed to realy help my weight loss. Everyone is doing a great job. Keep it up!! Surgery: 10/04/04 Starting weight: 383 Weight now: 273 Total loss: 110
