Topic: RE: Time for a fill???
Meryll, I was banded a week before you and you'll know if you need a fill if you are no longer loosing weight, you get hungry between meals and you dont feel the restriction. There are some thing you may never be able to eat again. I also still throw up or as I put it caugh up a hair ball once in a while. I cant eat Fried chicken even with the skin removed and bread just doesnt settle, Its like eating paste and it fills my band in seconds. You might try visiting the lap band board as well. From the main page you'll see other boards click on the arrow and it will bring the option for the lap band board. There are over 300 people who have been banded that post on the baord daily. Good luck to you and call your Dr. to talk about the Fill options. I had my 1st fill 6 weeks after surgery and I Love my band. Gail

Looks like this may be the norm for some of us (light weighters). Thats what my Dr. told me they call people who weigh around 265 a little more or less. He said light weighter lose slower than others. BUT! He also told me that light weighters are more likely to make their goal. I hold on to that thought very tightly. I was 267# and lost 9 before surgery. At the time of surgery I was 258.5# I am now around 212 or so. Thats 46# down in 3 1/2 months. I feel like I'm going a a snails pace. Barbara

Topic: RE: Plateau's
Hey everyone, I also hit a plateau at about 12 weeks and was really discouraged. I wanted to throw my scale across the room. In a way though the scale keeps me honest. I eat mostly eggs and cheese as my protein, however there are times where i have had cheese "goldfish" if i want a snack, which is a carb and a no no. Once i did start exercising the plateau seem to move a little. I do agree though, my clothes are falling off, so i try not to let the scale run my life, if your clothes are falling off, dont let the damn scale get you down I am glad i am not the only one. ! marla 342/268/170

Hi, I started swimming laps 3 days a week at the local high school pool. I called my community education in my city and asked for swimming. I really enjoy swimming and i am upto about 26 olympic laps so, i am feeling good. my weight loss slowed down this last month, i was in a lull , as soon as i started my swimming, the weight loss started to resume again. marla 342/268/170

I got a milk out of the vending machine for breakfast--took a sip and it was sour.. BARFORAMA... Dont kill me over the doritos. Didnt have the will power today. The Roast Beef Sandwich wasnt made with bread. It was one of those low carb tortillas. I cut it in half and then only ate half the half. Went to Walmart tonight and got some more Carb Countdown Choc Milk, Some Whey Protein SHakes (they look good--but pricey--will taste tomorrow)... Also got several several packs of sugar free ice breakers. I bought a bunch to trick my brain.. make it think its eating bad food... Will try them tomorrow too... Nite yall!

I go to Curves 3 - 4 times per week. Its hard because I have a 2 year odl and a 1 year old. I try to have dinner on the table when hubby gets home at 6pm...kids in the booster seats...and I bolt out the door in order to get there, work out and get home by the time they are just finishing dishes. Well, that was how it was supposed to go - they are all usually wrestling on the floor, dishes still on the table when I get home. And then kids need a bath (which I consider another workout) and bed. On the days I know I won't be going to Curves, I pop Richard Simmons in the DVD and do Sweatin to the Oldies. LOVE IT but I attract a crowd of toddlers (I do home daycare) and its hard not to knock them down with all that moving. I took yesterday off completely, but back to Curves tonight. Jenn

my nutritionist says 70-90 g protein a day, but the rule of thumb for protein is to multyply your weight by .3 that is supposed to give you an accurate cot on the amount of protein you should be getting a day. need less to say I do not get that much in on any given day if ever. 64 oz of water a day.... bwahahahaha that also is a no go for me , I average about 30 oz a day give or take a few either way, but I also do milk which my nutritionist says counts. so with my milk intake I am up to maybe 50 oz a day fluid intake. I am also supposed to eat 6 times a day three meals and three snacks. I find that hard as I was a one meal a day guy before surgery, and eating that often when I am not hungry is a definate no! I find myself looking for protein packed meals and seldom get vegies in at all< thats bad according to my dietician, she wants me spreding out my meals over protein , vegies and fruit. I do snack on fruit when I can maybe once a day a I love the sweetness of the fruit and it goes down easy. oranges are a bit harder on my pouch than say bannanas or grapes. I will be looking forward to watermellon this summer. it sounds to me like your doing well. I am about 75 pounds down since surgery, but have been on a massive 4 week plateau which I hate. keep up the good work and just remember every DR. does this a diferent way. be sure to take your daily vitamin, calcium, and monthly B12. good luck
