Topic: OMG...I'm such a klutz!
Electric hedge trimmers and fingers are not a good combination. We just spent several hours in the emergency room trying to put me back together. It will take up to 3 months to know what kind of permanent damage was done I was doing soooo great with my weight training. Now I'm out of commission for several weeks again! I'm so depressed. Wanda

Gee CeCe - I'd be way past the blah's if I was in that much pain. I am a pain baby! I don't like it at all. I hope you are able to get the shots for releive! I agree - we should all count our high weight - Hey we lost it all right? (I don't even know what mine was as I avoided scales like the plague!) You are closer to seeing that 120 something than I am to the 150 something. It is slow going now though - Huh? I've been researching a little about getting ready for a 5K. I don't even have one in mind. Just thinking...it would be a cool thing to do. At this point I don't know if I can run at all or how far I could jog. Hmmm....

Thanks, CeCe! Sounds like you have your own WOW moment in the making! You need to try on your wedding dress. It's probably going to be too big for you now, you look so good. Yes, we were stationed in Norfolk from 1989 until I got out i***** I liked the area a lot but I either had to find a new job or move to Charleston so I moved. I like it here also - it puts me a lot closer to my Mom (she lives in Myrtle Beach). Have a great week and let us know what happens with the dress!!!! Susan

Everybody seems to be doing so good this week and I'm glad the virus in Britt's household seems to be over. I think it is beginning to start at my house though. My son had to stay home from school today with nausea and coughing. I'm going to keep watching him to see if he gets a fever. Hopefully this is the worst of it, which won't be too bad. Starting weight: 233 Last week: 144 This week: 144 Loss this week: 0 Total loss: 89 BMI: 22.6 Hopefully I will have a loss next week. I'm going to focus on eating better and getting in lots of water. Susan, I loved reading this message!!! Hey, who cares if the dress is out of style! Like someone said, it may come back and even if it doesn't, it's a milestone dress. I have saved 2 of my very large tops. The first is one from my highest weight. I had pictures made after losing 100 pounds "wearing" that top and it's hilarious! Then, after losing 124 pounds, I regained about 60. I then save the top I was wearing in my "before" WLS photo from my surgeon's office. It's now TOTALLY ridiculous on me! You know what????? I just thought of a possible WOW moment for myself from 34 years ago!!!! On 2 February my husband and I celebrated our 34th anniversary! My mother had saved my wedding dress and I have it in a box in my closet! I haven't even thought about trying it on since WLS. I couldn't dream of fitting in it before! Susan, thanks for your inspiring message because it has inspired me to dig out my wedding dress!!! CONGRATS, Susan and GREAT GOING! By the way, were you guys ever stationed in Norfolk? That's very, very near me! CeCe

Oh, Kim! You are looking good but I'll be glad when you are completely recovered, eating on your own without pain and either the gall bladder is long gone or fully recovered. Keep taking good care of yourself! CeCe

Pattie, How sad for her. Does her surgeon's office have a full service program? Does she go to support groups? Is there a dietition on the surgeon's staff? She need counseling on how important it is to get the nurtrients in. Sounds like she may be suffering from depression or grieving over the changes. Even if her insurance won't pay for counseling, try to find out if there are agencies in town who charge on a sliding scale or offer supervised counseling. Licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) and other counselors have to do about 400 hours of supervised counseling before getting their license and that is cheaper. She needs help so she can enjoy her tool like we are! CeCe

Britt, Here's hoping that all the viruses are banned from your house!!! You've been through it, haven't you?! YUCK! I want to ask if anyone else is having the midwinter blahs?! I don't feel depressed - Lord knows I've got enough experience in that to know - but I'm just feeling blah, detached, not very passionate about anything. I'm just passing the days. I'm doing my normal stuff, just not very enthusiastically. Anyone else feeling that? Part of it may be my returning aches and pains. I had wrist surgery just a month before WLS and releasing the tendon helped for a while but the pain is back and is fierce. I'm going to an orthopedic doc this afternoon and I'll be begging for a cortisone shot. I saw him in November and he offered one then but the pain was gone during my plastic surgery recovery. I know that lifting heavy weights irritates it. Maybe due to the wrist problem, my darned shoulder pain is back too. I wonder if my hand specialist will shoot my shoulder full of cortisone too? I've already mentioned I'm in Physical Therapy because of my tight hips (after being there last fall for my SI joint!). I'm being stretched to death in there so I'm always sore!!! And, last but not least, all this inflammation seems to be bringing back my plantar fasciitis in my left foot. So, today I taught class being protective of my wrist and shoulder and then got on the treadmill to walk. My heart rate wouldn't come up so after walking 1/2 mile, I ran for 2 miles and it felt SO good! I then walked another 1/2 mile. I love running so I hope I can get back into it without hurting my back or feet! Ok, stats for the week! I'm back to 130.25. That's my lowest weight and I'm proud to be there but, just once, I'd like to see the 120s. I remember weighing 130 yet I cannot recall having a weight in the 120s on my license or being there for any length of time. So, I'd like to see that on my scale even if just for a short time!!! Starting Weight: 245.25 (Wanda, count your high weight! I should too!) Last Week: Was it 132? Can't remember! This week: 130.25 Total Loss: 115 BMI: 22.4 CeCe
