Hello all, Sick kids... No fun. Mine both had strep throat last week. My son missed about 4 days of school. He is a freshman in all advanced classes - guess what he did all weekend. I do miss the days when I could set him on my lap and cuddle him and it would make things better. He is 15 and was running a fever and nothing made it better! We seem to be all back on our feet though. On Friday I got out with Kathryn and rode my bike. Man it felt good. I have to remember that exercise feels so good! Starting: 358 Last Mon: 168 Today: 167.5 Loss this week: .5 Total Loss: 190.5+ Remember: You cannot fail as long as you are trying!

I'm sorry that your friend isn't doing well. It sounds as if she doesn't want to eat as opposed to not being able to eat. If that is correct, she definitely needs to seek the help of a mental health professional. Hopefully she doesn't let the lack of insurance coverage stop her. Sometimes we just have to self-pay. Help her see that she is worth it! We wouldn't think twice about self-paying to save the life our one of our children, but we never consider doing the same for ourself! I'm glad that you are there for her. It sounds like she needs a friend right now. Wanda

Oh Britt...the life of a young mother! I'm sorry that happened to you, but it sounds as if you handled it with style and grace! My youngest grandson (5 years old) peed on the leather seats in my Acura. I pride myself in keeping my two year old car looking (and smelling) as if it just rolled out of the factory. I wanted to react, but I kept my mouth shut. It was hard to do! Starting weight 234 Last week = 140 This week = 140 Loss this week = 0 Total loss = 94 (Dang it! I liked being able to say I lost 100 pounds!) My highest weight was 267--maybe I should use that instead of the 234. To answer Deb's question about Valentine's Day...this is RV show season so Randy is gone. He flew home to be here today, but he leaves again tomorrow. I won't see him again for awhile. It's so sad. We can't wait to retire. Randy is a diamonds and Roses kind of guy, but I'm trying to get him to scale down and give me Victoria Secret's undies. We have an unbelievable goal of paying off our house this year. It will be a miracle if it happens. I'm all about saving money where we can, but my darling husband is not as enthusiastic as I am! Hope you all have a wonderful week, but don't forget to post throughout the week. I miss you all when the board is so slow! Wanda

Do any of you have plans for Valentine's Day? I have a meeting that night and we're out of town all weekend for a basketball tournament so nothing special planned. Everyone have a fabulous week. Deb

Hi all, I hope that all of you had an enjoyable weekend. I "think" we have finally rid (shhhh did I say that out loud?) that NASTY virus. We thought all was well... and ventured out to dinner with the kids, **big mistake** poor Sofia got sick again and threw up all over lil' ol *me* Yes, it was lovely!!!! We paid the billed asked for our food "to go" and hightailed it out of there. Thankfully I was holding her when it all happened and I handled it like a true mom (no big deal - that I am covered in puke...right) I discreetly dealt with the situation at hand. If Paul was holding her the entire restaurant would have been in uproar - there would have been people vomiting all over. he he he. Anyway, Sunday was a virus free day here. So I *think* we are done? Here we go ... Starting weight 250.5 Last week = 140 This week = 140 Loss this week = 0 Total loss = 110.5 Current BMI = 22.6 Quote - "Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it." - David Star Jordan have a fantastic week! Keep your eye on the prize YOU can DO IT! hUGS, Britt

I have a friend who had gastric bypass August 2007 and she isn't doing good. She wanted this surgery since 2004 and had finally had it and regrets it. She has lost 100Ibs so far but she will not drink or eat enough. She says she can't stand being around food and wishes she didn't have the surgery. She told her surgeon she can't eat so he did an endoscopy and didn't find anything wrong with her, so he did a lapascopic surgery on her this week to make sure nothing was wrong with her bowel and still didn't find anything wrong with her. I scared for her, she doesn't look good and still won't eat or drink enough. I suggested to her Mother for her to seek physcartary help but she said her insurance won't cover it. What can I do to help her? I've know her since childhood and am worried about her heath. Thanks, Pattie

Glad to hear you are doing so much better and that you had a pretty good report from the doc.... WTG on the weight gain... I can't imagine having to lug around that feeding tube for so long, you certainly are a strong woman to have endured all that you have.... Good luck with weaning off the feeding tube, I hope you are able to get completely off of it soon.. I am sure that will be a big relief to you.... I will continue to keep you in my prayers... Congrats on doing so well.... HUGS, Shawn M.
