It's been a long time since I've been here. Can't explain it. Just hope that I can beg some forgiveness from all my old friends and new ones yet to meet.
There's just too much pain out there and I need to feel some of the old love that I once felt here with all you.
Back in the fold...
Lub y'all,
Steve

I'm crying for you, sweetie. Every time I think my own troubles are so HUGE, something shakes me to my senses like this. I have no idea what kind of pain you must be feeling, but I'm going to try to set a pillar in the sand underneath you. Settle on the rest of us for support and we'll make sure that you don't drop too far down. What can we do for you? I'll take all the guilt for you if you'll let me. I'm good with guilt and I accept it all willingly. If you'll let me, I'll take it all for you. That way you'll only have to deal with the sadness. And maybe someone else in the group will be able to take some of that for you, too.
Let me help, ok? It would help ME to know that I'm helping YOU! Is that ok?
Your good friend, Steve.

No cards out for me yet either. Was waiting for my 4 YO's school pics to come in and they finally did today.
Have a good one!

Topic: RE: Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Marsha, hope it was a good Thanksgiving for you. I am so blessed to still have my folks and had them over for the day. We had a great time, I worked hard to be as prepared as possible so it wouldn't be stressful so that was good. The days have gone by in a blur since then, so much work to do between being at the store and here at home. I hope to have a big chunk of it done today and then will try to relax more and enjoy the season and be here with my Dec. family.

If you already had the RNY then that just leaves you the DS, right? That is a big change. Would you have to self-pay? At our support group we are frequently told about a change to a lot of insurance policies where they exclude you from any wls if you have already had one procedure. I got VERY lucky and got my VBG revised to the RNY but it was a long struggle to get approval.
I have to chime in and say that 2 years seems to soon to consider revision. My recommendation would be to work with a dietician/nutritionist familiar with your RNY and try that route first. If you absolutely can't live the RNY diet-lifestyle and are willing to make the changes that are required for a DS then definitely consider the revision. But it seems you are selling yourself short by saying you 'only' lost 150 pounds. That is an AWESOME amount and you have got to be proud of it. Maintaining it will be hard work and even harder work to lose more but you are worth it. You deserve to be the healthiest you can be...isn't that why all of us are still fighting the weight?
Keep us posted on what you decide to do, we'll all be cheering for you.

Hi! I've been MIA due to holiday busy-ness. Retail land is CRAZY LAND from now till the 26th. To top it off, our store is having a high-level visitor this week so the big shots are all extra nutz. And I'm completely in charge of holidays here at home so all the cleaning, decorating, etc. is on my shoulders. That wouldn't be so bad if I weren't such a holiday geek and have to have waaaay too many decorations to deal with. Definitely not down because of the holidays but for sure feeling rushed and a bit panicked about not getting things done on time.
Christmas cards??? Still in boxes.... sigh...
Eating-wise I've actually been doing really well. I planned to allow myself to slack off around Thanksgiving because I wanted to eat my sugar free desserts w/o guilt and really enjoyed them. That's all gone now and I'm back to a much better plan to get ready for my 2-yr. post-op appt. next week. Got rid of the store-bought protein bars which were like candy bars and am back to my homemade ones. Much better!
About the only thing I'm still struggling with is the water. I just don't like to drink cold drinks when it is cold so I'm having a tough time getting it all in w/herbal tea. Now coffee....reg or decaf is a different story. hahaha
No extra exercise for me and that is guilt-inducing. My gut is so flabby! Definitely need to get back to the pilates dvd but I've just got too much to do and don't seem to budget that 20 minutes for myself.
Keep up your great work posting, Elaine. I wish I had more time this week to be here more often but I'll get back here when I can.
here's today's food so far (and projected)
--sf, nf latte w/1 scoop prot. powder (Amplify...new for me and yummy!)
--2 lf mozz sticks, 1 homemade prot.. bar for breakfast
lots of coffee
--another homemade prot. bar and 1/4 cup craisins for mid-morning snack
--lunch will be egg beaters and salsa
--dinner will prob. be pea soup
--evening snack, maybe a 100 cal bag of popcorn?
Ok, hate to say it but I've gotta go roll out the dough for the kids' gingerbread houses. No trouble wanting to eat it, if I get tempted I can always make a batch of the splenda gingerbread cookies but I'm really trying to do without sugar free cookies this year. As I recall, Melissa encouraged me to try to tough it out this month and I'm going to give it a good try.
Hugs!
Molly
