Thanks for this! A neighbor gave me some springform pans not to long ago and I have been looking for a reason (and a decent recipe) to make a cheesecake!
Topic: Happy Nat'l Pumpkin Cheesecake Day!

Now this is the kind of holiday I can get behind! So glad I checked my e-mail today before heading out to Home Depot to blow some serious cash on a new kitchen door. When I get home I think there will be an addition to my day's baking roster. Mmmmm...my mouth is watering for pumpkin cheesecake already! If you aren't already signed up for the Hungry Girl daily e-mails, do yourself a fun favour and do it! Here's today's recipe:

Molly...still chewin' on those eggbeaters and maybe not making it to the bottom of the dish yeehaw!

I have my plan for the day...did weel yesterday sticking to it and esp because I also posted here so I felt like I could not stray..
B-protein coffe shake
s- 2 cups coffe with s/f creamer
L-1 cup homemeade chili
s- couple of PB protein balls
D- couple scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa (love to eat breakfast for dinner!)
s- yogurt with granola
some hot green tea in the evening is nice now that the weather is getting cooler.
My menu is a little boring and will probably be the same or similar all week just because it leaves little room for me to stray. I sooo want to see 165 on my scale and will do what it takes to get there (within reason of course)
I WILL get in my 36 minutes on the elliptical! (I know....36 min?! Why 36?...'cause I am working my way up a little at a time so as not to feel overwhelmed and give it up altogether. Adding a minute every few days doesn't get to my head as much as saying I'll do 45 minutes and then after 5 wanting to jump off cause I feel like I can't do it. Make sense?)

Ah, young(ish) Grasshopper....so sorry am I to read of your stuggle. I lift my first cup of coffee to you in salute and send prayers your way for strength. (not to mention big hugs!!!!) Luckily grasshoppers aren't in season here.
Going to try something new today and use OH for my journalling first. If the hands don't hurt too much by the end of the day I'll go to Sparkpeople to reveal the ugly truth. Love that we can edit our posts here so I'll just check in and keep adding food as I add it to me.
6 a.m. 1/2 cup 0% fage, 1/2 cup special K protein cereal
7:30 a.m. one of those pumpkin muffins -and- coffee (breakfast and coffee has been a rule-breaker for me for some time now)
8:45 a quick snack of 3/4 cup eggbeaters before going out shopping and not bringing any protein bars with me (calories, calories!)
1:30 half a pumpkin muffin (this time not a healthy one...sigh) got home from my errands today on foot...car trouble so I dropped it off for a diagnosis...crossing fingers! Baking now!
later...? cya
Another cup of coffee and I (and a heavy blanket) are going to the patio to watch the birdies and enjoy the bliss of the peaceful (read: ALONE!) morning.

Needed some help sorting out a lot of emotional issues so I had a Kung Fu session with my personal Master Po. That would make me... Shaolin monk, Kwai Chang Caine?
Basic Episode: Someone Left the Lid Off the Blender... In the end, Grasshopper is scheduled for another Kung Fu session Friday. All in all... the blender just kept whizzing through the night... just mental images... no words... some tears.
General Impression: Why go again? I am drained already. Answer: Patience... Knowledge...
Still having a lot to learn...
2 AM Eats:
slice pumpernickel / rye, 1 t. Blue Bonnet Spread, mini popcorn, Nature Valley Almond Crunch
Calories: 427
Carbs: 54
Fats: 20
Sat. Fat: 2
Protein: 14
Perhaps I should have eaten actual grasshoppers, which have only 1,365 calories per pound.

Hi! Thank you for getting this going, I'm so happy to see it on the mb again. Since the sun hasn't come up yet on Tuesday I'm still going to pretend this counts for Monday. I was sooooo busy and ate pretty bad but worked whats left of my butt off in the yard so it was a great day all in all. Here's eats...not logged on sparkpeople, my arms hurt too much last night to even think of typing.
--lactaid latte
Cliff Kids bar
1 cc pancakes batch, 1/4 c sf syrup, 1/2 cup egg beaters
another Cliff Kids bar, lf mozz stick
2 turkey patties, 2 T lf ranch dressing
4 (not all at the same time!) nsa ice cream bars
1 corn thin (like a rice cake but only 25 cal) w/1 T peanut butter
lots of sf chai throughout the day, sf cocoa
coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee
another lactaid latte
detour bar (the half size kind)
1 mini bag lite popcorn
This constitutes a LOT of grazing from dashing inside to use the bathroom, warm up and blow my nose. haha
On tap for Tuesday....more yardwork (rototilling, digging and moving perennials, pruning, raking, cleaning the patio) and baking to get ready for the Rose Society meeting on Wed. evening, a Wed. potluck at work and a Thursday potluck at work. Sheesh...enough potlucks already!
Have a great day!
Molly
ps..in the oven right now some pumpkin muffin cupcakes! (the Pillsbury reduced sugar cake mix, half a cup of water, 2 tsp. pp spice, can of pumpkin and 1 tsp. maple flavouring, mix well bake as 12 cupcakes 25 min. @ 425 degrees....family eats it, delish!)

I still haven't gotten back into exercising, which I thought that I would especially after hearing some info at Support Group. One woman mentioned that she had bone density loss in her hips, but more density in her spine. Not sure why there was this kind of change, but the loss was what they focused on... and the answer: walk. This woman is about 18 months post-op and in her late 50's. Her age was not seen as the factor, but her lack of exercise was noted.
My day started with string cheese and 1 oz bran pretzels.. then decaf coffee w/ DaVinci Caramel.
B: 2 oz Great Grains cereal w/ 3 oz reduced milk
L: 4 oz lamb w/ 2 oz gravy and 4 oz mashed potatoes w/ 1 t Blue Bonnet spread
D: 3 stuffed clams w/ 1 T spread, 1 oz pumpkin seeds
S: NF yogurt, 1/2 oz peanuts, 5.5 oz apple, 5.5 oz banana, 6 oz grapes, Fudgsicle, Farina w/ 1 t spread
Calories: 1973
Carbs: 280
Fats: 58
Sat. Fats: 10
Protein: 82

Exercise?! I had it in my head to do it today...but haven't gotten to it yet. That has really been my hurdle from the get go. Did good for a couple months but then last week TOM visited and I just did not feel like it. Go a week without and now I feel the old tug of war...I'll do it tomorrow....
I can say so far so good on the meal pln...but now that I am home for the evening...the kitchen is starting to whisper my name!

Hi, Mini Me... Thank you for sharing about your husband's cancer and surgeries. Hoping that he is well and that you two will someday work towards foster/adopt. 2006 must have been a very stressful year for you & your DH. Perhaps 2009 will be THE year of small blessings... pink or blue! Lots of hugs...

Hi Elaine!
Thanks for starting this thread!!! I was so happy to see this when I logged on tonight!
I havne't logged anything and didn't recommit today like I had wanted to :( Had a stressful weekend. I need to learn how to not eat in regards to stress. Had a patient that ended up being flown by helicopter to a larger city. I felt so bad for him.
So, I have done nothing but sleep and graze no lies here... at all. I promise promise promise to recommitt tomorrow. Nothing else bad for me tonight. It ends right here right now.
As for exercise, I haven't today, just been so tired from work last night. I am also late on starting my period by several weeks, no not pregant! I stopped birth control two months ago and this always happens when I stop. I feel premenstural all the time :(
Ok ENOUGH whining on my part lol..
I am SO very proud of you. I am going to sit down and make my plan tonight. Thanks for the inspiration!
