Welcome... Pattyanne and Tuty...  I thought that you might want to be added to our little Dec. 06 members.  To do so you'll have to POST about 2 subjects; not just reply.   Seems that OH did a bit of revising a while back and deleted our much larger member listing.  You will be able to see if you are listed at the left side portion of the board... Member List!

We'd love to keep this MB active and chatty!  Hope to hear from you again!

Oh, Bother... My skin is just hangin'... pitiful!   HeHeHe

Wow!!! I am super impressed with your memory...thanks for doing this.

I am very happy to report that I have been able to maintain strees levels down with everything that is going on right now....the renovations at the townhouse are coming along, school is coming alon too and  my brother and his family are no problem at all...wow, I can't believe how I worked myself up last week for nothing....or maybe it worked better than expected.

Have not been able to rent my apartment yet and both mortgages are due on the 1st.....mayor stress alert...nothing I can do about thouhg...hopefully it will rent soon.

Tomorrow  I am getting my nails done in the morning--my special treat---and then to Home Depot to purchase the rest of the thing we need for the house, its going to be so much fun picking stuff up but the fun is going to stop as soon as we hit the cash register---oh well, no pain, no gain, right?

Have a great sunday!!!!

most docs offer some kind of payment plan....if not, there is a credit card called "care credit" which most docs accept ....look for a doctor who offers some kind of help. There is plenty out there. Good luck!!!!

This week.. let's see.  I can't stand the smell of anything cooking.. especially meat.  So, been doing my Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones for dinner, then cold cuts and cheese, yogurt, etc. throughout the day.
No morning sickness, but then I eat 6-8 times a day, so no stomach acid build up.

I can't stand strong tastes, either.  Have to dilute 1/2 a pack of Crystal Light in 32 oz, and then sometimes that's pushing it.  So, mostly decaf ice tea, peppermint tea, and plain water.

Slowly getting over the sleepy all the time, now it's just mostly late afternoon/early evening.  Name fight is on for the boy's name.  And my brother is wading in to the ruckus now.  LOL

And there is not a hope in hell of the baby ever being a Junior.  Ray hates his name.  Eddie Ray McDaniel, II.  We're not perputuating that crime on another poor helpless child.

Colonoscopy.. think of the diet as same as for the bypass.

Keep it light, simple, and nothing very filling, or when you do the prep you'll regret it.  Just remember nothing dark colored, J-ello, grape juice, etc.

Worked way too long for Gastroenterologists.

Best bet, light soups today, early tomorrow, before starting prep.

HI Diana,

I have not done an updated post yet.  Not sure I will as I have told most everyone already or they are finding out through the grapevine it seems.  I did post an update on my OH blog.  It was a VERY hard decision and one that I didn't take lightly.  Took a lot of soul-searching and deciding.  In my heart I know I made the right decision for myeslf and my family.  You are so sweet about worrying about me not having time for you guys!!! *Hugs* I love you guys and I never want to be separated from such a wonderful December family... you guys are so much a part of me.  I mean that!!!!! I am so glad to still be active on here, you just have no idea.

I am sorry to hear you are struggling.  It's not easy is it?  I struggle too, I think we all do in our own ways.. maybe a bit differently than others.  I know refined white carbohydrates just cannot be a part of my diet. When I eat them I am very much in a downward spiral and have to "cold turkey" them before I an decarb.  To me its like an alocholoic or drug user... once sober cannot even have a lick of alchohol or one pill.. its over and they are back into their destructive pattern.  I feel we are the same.  Carbs (refinded carbs) are our poison.  Find other alternatives... you can do it.  Lately, as gross as this sounds lol..  I will take light margarine or butter (1 tbsp)  melted and 2 squirts of 1/2 oz of SF syrup any flavor (davinci) and 1 scoop of protein powder.  Mix it up and put dabs on a plate to make a couple cookies..  Nuke in the microwave for 20 seconds NO LONGER and you have cookies.. no joke.  It's not the same but it makes a bready like cookie and takes the edge off.

You just gotta think outside the box and I know that is hard when time is not on your side with family. Hang in there and you can always PM me or even call me ok?  I am here... I can talk u through the tough times... we all have them and it helps to have someone to vent to.  I can be that person if you need me ok?

Hugs and have a good weekend!

Love ya!
Mel

Thanks for understanding Molly.  (((((Hugs)))) Back and thanks for those, I need them :)  I am glad nobody is judging me for leaving and understanding why I made the decision that I did.  It wasn't a quick decision and took a lot of thought and soul-searching with my husband and my family.  It really is a job for someone without a lot of demands, family etc.  I can see why your BC is able to be successful with being a widow and not having any other time constraints, she can put all her energy into it.  Good fit for her.  Honestly even if I did dive in and put all my effort in, the pants they wanted me to wear, or the shoes they wanted me to fill, just wasn't achieveable and more help would be necessary.  They wont' provide that till its proven as a need.  You know how it goes.

Thanks so much for saying you are glad I will be around here still.  I have to admit I want to be here, you all are my family and honestly I KNOW I would not be as successful as I am now without all of you guys.  You keep me grounded.  I am blessed as well being part of this amazing December family.  They did say that maybe once things get up and running they will call to see if I would be available for a part time job or something later on when I have kids and I might very well want to look into that down the road.

Thanks again for saying your are proud of me.  I needed to hear this from my peers honestly.  Again there was a lot of swallowing of my pride that came with this decision.  I grew from this, big time.  As my mom said "this is one of those adult things you don't like to do but you grow immensely when you are faced with it".  She is so right.

Sounds like work is keeping you busy!!!  I hope that gets better soon.  *hugs*  You must share ANY pumpkin recipes you come up with.. you know I simply adore pumpkin!

I am so glad fall is here.. aren't you?  My favorite.  Enjoy it!  And thanks again for understanding.

Hugs,
Melissa

Ro... wow, God love you!! You are incredible!  Thanks for keeping us up to speed and updated on everyone!

You are right, beyond the COE stuff they had me doing much much more than that and I think there would have been some other "issues" but aside from everything my family must come first.  I tried it, and I am glad that I did, so I would never wonder.  I am still humbled that they felt I was the best candidate and for that I will always be greatful!  Perhaps in the future, once everything is established and I have had a kid or two :)  I will be able to go there part time for the benefits.  I am looking at developing a weight loss surgery website, membership site actually with my husband as a means of additional income.  He is big time involved in these sites, we to boston last weekend and san francisoco this weekend to learn more about it.  He is already doing very well $$ wise so he wants to do a WLS site also, sounds like a way for me to make a few dollars and share what I know and what works for most as postops.... what do you think? I hate to take money from my community people but I will offer free newsletters etc and OPTION to buy if they want to.  So it won't exclusively a purchase thing.  I can do this from home with kids and still feel very fulfilled.  Just something I am thinking about.

Anyways, I need to get ready for job... its the weekend :)  YEAH! I am so glad to have my old job back.... nobody even can understand how RELIEVED i am... whew.  I will miss working with those few I did connect with and I have already hugged them and told them thank you for all they gave me.  Maybe someday like I said I will see my way into that department and they did say they would maybe contact me in the future, I told them by all means, to do that.

Hugs,
Melissa
