Ro R6ocks!  That was a great post for keeping us all together and updated.  I had planned on being more active here this week but we ended up having a terrible week at work again with more people quitting...one of whom was a real blow...it was like having a sudden death happen.  We will all get by but it has been tough.  I even came home from work one day, got my chores done and then took an Ambien to sleep the rest of the day away.  And I've never done that before.  That isn't any healthier than eating for comfort but at least I got a whole lot of rest that night.

It  is a 3-day weekend for me here and today is yardwork day, tomorrow hopefully sewing and then Monday i have a colonoscopy scheduled so that is pretty much a 'nothing' day.  What I'm supposed to be eating and not eating this weekend is a little confusing.  I may just skip ahead to the liquid diet to make it easier.  By Monday a.m. I definitely won't have any poo weight left. heehee

We had a few good hard frosts this week so the garden is officially done-for.  All I have to do now is tear out the vine supports and then rototill.  Going to plant my garlic today and get the potted plants moved into the potting shed for their winter rest.  Everything else just gets to die down and then maybe a few more tidies before the snow flies and that'll be it for my outdoor fun this year.

DH is out hunting Bambi this weekend and I shouldn't say it but I hope he doesn't fill his tag.  I'm not in the mood to help work on the meat, don't like to eat venision personally and would rather use the room in the freezer for diet foods.   Bad wife, I know!

You mentioned autumn baking....I'm on it!  Have already made one batch of a pumpkin bar thing that went over pretty well but haven't got it entered into my Sparkrecipes data yet.  I'll post it when it gets done.  Also contemplating a pot of Diana's Black Bean Soup for next week....it is really yummy.

Had another good blood sugar drop this a.m. and waiting for it to come up still.  Think I will go have a quick lie-down and wait it out.  More later!

Hugs!
Molly

Aw, Melissa...hugs for having to make such a difficult choice.  {{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}  After seeing the things my dr's bariatric coordinator did (with staff to help her!) I can fully understand that you were feeling too much pressure from this job AND trying to work your old job AND dealing with your own personal needs.  My dr's BC is a sweet but older lady whose kids are raised and gone, is a widow and doesn't have the extra time demands on her that you have.

Getting to know you here has been a blessing and a privilege and I have to say selfishly, that I'm glad you'll have a  little more time to stay part of our community here.  I know you'll continue to help people in your support group there too and when the time is right you'll be able to make a move to a job like that again.  And hopefully there won't be the real possibility of personality conflicts thrown into the mix too.  That would have certainly been a huge health-wrecking stress factor in it's own!

Sorry if I'm rambling here...just want to let you know how proud I am of you for doing the important work you do and for being brave enough to know what changes are and aren't right for you and your family.

BIG HUGS!

Molly

I'm at the point where I am considering reconstructive surgery, and am seeking a surgeon, I'm getting tired of all the sagging skin and wrinkles. I had a mamogram on Thursday and they had to retake the top view because my boobs were too wrinkeled (funny but not funny). I'm not rich and insurance is not going to cover it. So I need a doctor who will consider a payment plan if anyone has any reccomendations drop me a line.

Hi, Diana... You might be able to find Mel's info by pressing on her latest posts or checking the recent posts at the left side of this board.  It was a really difficult decision, but ONE person can't survive establishing and running a Center of Excellence.  Even if they gave Mel some help, most of the burden would be on her.  Sounds smothering to me... I couldn't handle it!

Sorry to hear that the EATS are calling you.  It's so true that the little touches... colorful candies... traditional stuff... adds to our memories of what makes Halloween so much fun for us.  Last year DH slipped in a mixed box of chocolate bars... whi*****luded my trigger... Butterfingers.  It was a miserable time, having to see, but not indulge!

How much does the average person gain for the various Holidays?  Are there actual numbers?

Puppy Hugs...   (I like the smiling pup so much... sad faced pup needs some lovin'!)

Glad to hear that your little princess is up and feeling well!  Many wishes coming your way for baby #3... just don't add Ursula to your top picks of girl names.  Ursula is who you were referring to... Right?    She's just needs an RnY!... and an attitude adjustment!  HeHeHe  Are you kiddies having any nightmares???   My son had a really bad reaction to the monkey soldiers in the Wizard of Oz..  So Sad to see them frightened!

It's great that DH has finished with the Band preliminaries and is going for it!  It will help you if the two of you are eating healthier.
Happy Baby Making!

I need to take some time and read more posts as I had NO idea about Melissa..I am sure this was a hard decision but the right one for her:)
Personally I was a little worried she would not have the time for us anymore..lol

I am STRUGGLING with my eating more then I have in the almost 2 years since surgery. I make 1 bad choice after another and go to bed and think tomorrow will be a better day and it is not. I just went to the grocery and bought things I am hoping will help. WHY I ever bought candy corn and peanuts is beyond me. They look so nice in a halloween bowl but really bad on my A$$!!!!

Well off to put my grocerys away and let the DOG in as she is whining at the door..

Hugs to everyone..

Diana

my votes are definitely with Ro's Gidiva idea (simple, classic and top quality w/ a lot of variations to choose from.)

a cookie basket idea sounds great too.

Just make sure your bosses are not out fellow WLS patients so they can enjoy without fear of dumping:)

sorry, couldn't resist this crack:)

Topic: Boss' Day- Help

I need some ideas for a gift. I have wonderful bosses who give me random bonuses throughout the year (money, gift cards etc.) and I would like to get them something. I work in a legal office for a husband and wife team. It is just the 3 of us here. I was thinking maybe a Cookie Basket or edible fruit arrangement.

Any other ideas?

Amy
