Hi Molly!

Wow this really touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye.  Thank so much for all your kind words! I hope I can be as great as they want me to be etc.. you know it goes, you wonder. .. Did I do the right thing? I am sure I did.  I said I woiuld let my heart and God direct me on this one.

I will try to be around as much as I can but I am sure the job will have me very busy, there is LOTS to do.  They want to be a Center of Excellence so that will be one challange along with contructing this thing from the ground up.  Wow do I have my hands full I am sure.  I also deal with all the insurance companies etc.  I am leaving a pretty "cush" job to take on this one.. but I am ready for the challenge.. hope we can fid kids in somewhere!

Yes the plastic surgery thing is a total joke.. you would think we have jumped through enough hoops already with our RNY.  Ya know? Crazy.

We talked about buying a house closer but my husband's job is in Minnesota.  We live on the IA border 4 miles from MN.  I work 30 mins south into Iowa.  So really we are in the perfect spot.  If he ever quits his job then may reconsider but for now, it will be me driving with the weather elements etc. fun times eh?  At least on the unit I was on if i got stuck I had a place to crash, dont think I will have this in a doctors office.  I will be in a clinic now.

I am already freaking out about when will I exercise? If I get up at 530am-600am and have to be there around 730am?  I don't get off work till 5pm-6pm.. Id have to work out after that but then I wouldnt get home until 9pm... ACK.. not sure how that is gonna work.  But I am paying for a gym membership so I gotta figure it out!  Now I see how you day people struggle lol..

Well thanks again Molly.. I am gonna try to not disappear as much as possible... really.

Hugs,
Melissa

Wonderful news!!!   You must be so excited!  Did they offer you the $$ amount you would need to compensate?  I sure hope so, you are worth every penny  that's for sure!
Even if you decide not to take it we are all so proud of you.  We all knew that you were the perfect choice for this position and it is wonderful that they now know it too.
Please let us know if/when you decide to accept the position.

My husband just came upstairs from watching tv and said they just announced that Paul Newman passed away from cancer.  I am sooo saddened by this.

Hi Rachel!  Nice to see you again and big hugs from one cruddy job lady to another.  Mine is only retail but lately it has been like an ongoing Jerry Springer episode, I swear.

You go to the gym everyday???

I'm so not worthy!!!  You keep up the great work and would you kick my butt a little????

Hi Amy,
For me the autumn decorations go up on Labor Day weekend...the general orangy/red stuff.  Then the witches and ghosts go up on Oct. 1st but all over town I've been seeing cute houses done up with their Halloween stuff already.  The pumpkins have already been in the grocery store parking lots for a week for heaven's sake!

Love your timeline on the Christmas decorations.  I used to always do them the weekend after Thanksgiving but now that I work retail that weekend I'm so tired.  Wish I could convince DH to let me do them earlier.

One thing different that I'm determined to do this year is to get the Christmas lights on the house while the weather is still nice.  DH never helps with any holiday stuff...it is totally my 'deal' and I always end up on the ladder with rain or melting snow dripping in my face while I have the annual autumn headcold.  This year I'm gonna be smart and do it while I'm still healthy and it isn't raining!!!  (do you see me stomping my little foot here?)

So you have the kids' costumes selected but what about yours?  You posted some really cute Halloween pictures last year if I recall and you looked pretty hot.  How you gonna top that?  Can't wait to find out!  If I can get my act together I am going to sew a Carol Brady costume and have my hair straightened and then flipped out on the ends.  Should be fun if I can manage to get it done in time.

Looking forward to the holiday itself but not in the least bit interested in shelling out for candy.  There have been boxes and boxes of candies in the stores now for weeks and usually by now I'd have a pretty big stash amassed.   Overbought last year and ended up with waaay too much leftover.  I think I will wait a bit longer and see if there are any sales.  Having the candy in the house doesn't bother me as long as I have my sugar free chocolates.  And I always do!

Happy Autumn!

If your job is anything like my surgeon's bariatric coordinator then you are going to be ONE BUSY LADY!!!    Sad for us, because you will prob. just not have the time to keep up with us but you will be doing such important work and helping so many, many people that it is important for us to let go of you and share you.

Great news on the ps consult....how amazing to think of getting that much skin removed.  Seems unfair of an insurance company to require six months of suffering with a skin rash before they'll kick in on the panni.  "Sorry ma'am, you haven't suffered LONG ENOUGH."  grrrrrr.....

Any chance that you could buy a house closer to your new job or is that totally not an option?  I know you and DH have done such extensive work to your home now and it would be hard to leave it but with gas prices the way they are plus winter roads...  ??

Well, hugs and big congrats to you!  I am so proud of you and the people you'll be serving in your new job are so very lucky to be getting your help.  Now you will be paying it forward even more than you already have!  Nothing but good karma for you, dear one.

Hi Betty!  Can you believe it is going to be 2 years out for us very soon?  Where in the world did that time go....it feels as though it has just whizzed past.  Do you feel that way too?

We had a crummy summer here weather-wise or at least as far as my garden was concerned.  Now that 'good' foods taste so wonderful to me I was getting ticked that it was late August before I was eating my own zucchini.   And usually that is one veggie that you can't control in the garden.   It is lovely enjoying some really fresh food for now and I'm making the most of it.  Have a lovely autumn!

Topic: RE: Give Me 5 Good Snack Ideas, Guys!!!
  Cheetos =  BAD !!!!

My husband is a smoker but he smokes outside because it gives me migraines.   If your guys have to have Cheetos just remind them that those give you fat, high blood pressure (sodium), cravings....crankiness!  And make them eat them outside the home.

And don't even go near 'organic' Cheetos.  Been there, done that, never again.  'Nuff said.

To me a 'snack' is a food that I hadn't planned on adding to my food budget for the day but will eat anyway so it usually isn't geared towards being sometehing to quench the binge mode but rather to fuel it.  Not good for me so I try not to view it as a snack but rather as another small meal addition.  Just a little rearrangment of old thinking.

Some favorites that will hold me for a long time....cheese sticks, Oberto Turkey Jerky (at Costco), a homemade muffin from my freezer stash, a hot cup of tea or coffee, a package of Tofu Shirataki noodles sautee'd with some wasabi teriyaki sauce.  In the summertime when the fruit is good I usually also eat a big dish of either strawberries, watermelon, canteloupe or a big huge peach.
