Good Morning Molly,
We are probably all hoping you got some good zzzz's last night. In answer to your question about tea - my drink of choice for night time is now diet hot chocolate. I have this huge, 32oz. cup and I put one pkg. of diet marshmellow and one pkt of diet regular hot chocolate in it, and then I add all tha****er. It takes me at least 1 1/2 hours to drink it, and that keeps me from eating for a long time (through the late night munchies). I no longer drink any tea, just my decaf skinny vanilla lattes, water and these.
I once had hypnosis and I know some people use it to sleep. Know any good hypnotists?

"i like to say i have a shopping injury"....
That is so funny, i hope I can remember it to steal it someday. LOL!
Oh trail mix....evil stuff! Before I went to the Farm Chick's show on Saturday I just HAD, HAD, HAD to make a pit stop and could only find a quick gas station to stop at. In order to ease my conscience I bought a package of trail mix ($1.99 for a tiny package...ACK!) and then actually ate it the next day. Good thing it wasn't a bigger package or I'd have eaten it right down to the bottom and licked the inside.
Glad you had a good weekend anyway. Did you score some good shopping finds at least?

That's right! I was just hoping someone would ask and I'd have a sauce little 'It's a new fashion trend!' comeback all ready. Oh well....
One sort of clueless thing I did recently was to wear my new Boobies t-shirt on a day when I ran an errand to Home Depot. Aka...Man Land. Oh man, the looks! You know I shopped fast and got out of there as quickly as I could once the lightbulb lit and comprehension dawned.
Here's where my dd got the shirt: (it was a Mother's Day gift)

Have you been to my little blog recently and seen all the fancification that my cool sister has done to it? Wow...it is awesome now!!! She even figured out how to add music and I have had a great time finding music to add to the playlist she started for me.

Nancy, I used to be such a good rule follower in the early post-op days and no coffee or caffiene was a biggie. But first the decaf snuck back in and then the half-caff. and now it is mostly full-caff. I do try to cut back often and make my morning protein lattes with half-caff but then by our first break time at work I am just dragging and besides needing some calories I need the caffiene too.
Someone at work suggested I actually try drinking coffee in the night when I wake and while on vacation I tried it just for fun...it did put me back to sleep or at least didn't keep me awake longer. But since I am not supposed to be drinking coffee anyway I won't do that on a regular basis.
Have you tried drinking decaf tea? Since surgery, oddly enough, I haven't gone back to caffienated black tea. Green tea, sometimes, but I still drink decaf or herbal teas. Weird, huh? Thank you so much for the help and concern. Heaven knows I have to take all suggestions and give them a try in order to find something that will work.
Molly

Oh, I so empathize with you on the tailbone issue....that is horrid! Mine has thankfully settled down and unless I'm sitting on a metal folding chair or something else hard like that it behaves very nicely finally. You poor thing, that is so hard to live with. Hang in there! Don't you wish that we could just have the darned things surgically removed or have some sort of numbing done to kill that pain? Yikes...how come in all the medical advances they haven't fixed THAT? Seems simple enough....
The sleep/weight connection is so annoying but important to pay attention to so I am really going to work at it this summer. Good for you getting those 3 pounds off and ending that stall. It just have been hard work and a very sweet victory. Yay!!!!
Hope that you can keep the sleepwalking under control...that is scary!

Guess what has me working on this more is joining the Sparkpeople sleep challenge. It started in June and I thought I'd be able to pick up helpful hints, but really it is a lot of the same old info.
Yes, a dr. visit is definitely in order but after having talked to her about it several times already it just feels like not much is going to get accomplished till I get a different job and that isn't going to happen. Could it also be a midlife thing?
So sorry to hear that your dietician was of so little help. After going through one failed attempt at weight loss surgery and doing it without a dietician it feels like a vital part of the lifeline for me now and I have to say that even though I haven't seen her professionally in the last year...just being able to connect with her at support group monthly and via e-mail has been really important. The loss of that is scary.
The Center of Excellence thing won't apply...my surgeon's office is through a group medical practice. It is their previous dietician who is the head of the hospital's bariatric group and that is where the Center of Excellence is actually. In fact, when I recently visited a friend in the hospital that dietician was there and very interested in my bento's. She took pictures of what I'd packed to eat at the hospital that day, how flattering! That was one more thing that spurred me on to get the blog and bento photos going. After all, it must be very intriguing to pre-ops and new post-ops to see how those of us a little further out really eat day-to-day. If I'd been able to see visuals of the food like that instead of just reading about it, I'd have been a lot more informed at that stage.
That was a funny picture...I wonder what was on my chin? Amy and I were certainly handling a lot of stuff and I hope I didn't have a big old dirt mark on my face all day till lunch time. At least I know I wiped my face well then.
Last night: Full-tablet of Ambien, antihistimine, 2 MidNite tablets, the Prozac...all washed down with warm milk. I slept from 9 till 1:30 and then from 2 till 3:45 when I'd been hitting my snooze alarm for 45 minutes. LOL That's an increase in sleep and a good thing.
Thank you for all the help and keeping after me. Hugs!
