You can kick that carn monster to the curb melissa!!!  Rememner that carbs also magnatize water.  Our liver has a substance called glycogen.  For ever glycogen molecule you have so many water molecules that are attracted.  Glycogen is on our liver if we do not provide carbohydrates then our bodies will utilize that for energy.  Remember the Atkins diet.  So if you had any of those depleted and then ate more carbs than normal, water weight/swelling will happen as a result and is temporary if you bring your carbs back down u will notice the shedding of water and rather quickly and of course us women being hormonal that can always contribute too.

Take it a moment at a time, live for today, not yesterday and not tomorrow! YOU CAN DO THIS! I like that you are logging again, self-awarness is huge!!  You are being accountable big pat on the back!

Took off 7 lbs, came home weighing 146.5 with fluids/swelling.  Still swollen and they say the swelling can get worse before it gets better so I am sure my stats will be all over the board the next coming months.

Hi Melissa!

When you say "yesterdays MEAL" do you mean ONE meal? if so yeah... gotta stop it.  Now if this is for the FULL day.... breathe, its not SO bad.

You are doing the right thing, being accountable and can make the necessary changes u need to make.. you have recognized.  That is what is important.  You know what to do and I know you can do it!!!

Glad you are going to the gym, work that tushie for me too!

Can I say you had me freaking?  I thought this was going to be a post about your tongue.  Shame on you for getting me so scared! LOL... j/k

HI!!!!

Ok - I am being VERY transparent with my plastics journey b/c well.. not many feel they can b/c of fear of showing their body and totally TOTALLY Understandable and without a doubt I do NOT blame them.  It is huge to show your body fully ahem.. nude.

For those of you who will embark on plastics someday or are thinking of it or will be doing it in the near future, if you want to see pictures of me both preop and recently postop (very graphic do be warned - I am a nurse so this stuff does not phase me and I honestly just do not care and I realize it can be offensive to some) they are posted on my profile.

You must be a "friend" of mine on OH to view.  I have shared with the PS board and want to do this with my December board b/c u are my family.  I want you to know exactly what you would be getting into.

I had a lower body lift on April 28th, you are cut all the way around the body.  It tightens the abdominal muscles (abdominoplasty = tummy tuck) bring up the outer hips/thighs and buttocks - I didn't need as much lifting in those areas as some.  You basically have a large belt of skin removed where it is severed all the way around and brought back together (Pulled down).

I had 4 drains, they are gone now, I got them out WAY earlier than most patients and I am ecstatic about that.  Most keep them in 3-4 weeks and with my doc u cannot shower until they are out. They also said my incisions are healing at a great rate!  I attribute this to my high protein diet, exercise regimen preop and being diligent with vitamin supplementation.  Basically just taking good care of myself since my RNY surgery.  

So if you want to see and are not a friend request me and I will add you.  Again, graphic.. very.  Do not have children or husbands around or anyone else :)  There are preop (lots) and postop - 1 week pics posted.

I am still here..Just not posting my weight as I am so embarressed..I weigh more then some of the BEFORE surgery people...I know I need to get OFF the carb wagon and stop the grazing.
Today has been a pretty good day..I watched Biggest Loser  last night and had a LONG talk with myself!!!
Hopefully next week I can post a positive:)
