Aw, hugs and thanks Melissa.   I got in to my dr. today and got the ball rolling to find out what it is.  Gonna keep fingers crossed!

Whenever they get the ultrasound done I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Saw the doctor today and she didn't feel anything she thought was a hernia.  What she felt  (and OW, her poking hurt!) she said was the muscle.  So maybe I tore the muscle.   That would mean no tummy tuck but since I hadn't been crazy to get one done in the first place I shouldn't get too disappointed.

The base put in a consult for an abdominal ultrasound so now I have to wait for that office to call to set up the appointment.  I'll let you know how it goes.  For now, I will keep an eye on bowel habits and the dr. also said to watch for nausea or vomiting.  She gave me a 20# weight restriction sheet for work.  That was my main concern: I noticed that after a few hours at work the pain got worse and didn't hesitate to get seen.  My boss is really wonderful about stuff like that, plus she's had a really bad hernia herself and didn't want me to mess around waiting.

So in the meantime, I am crossing fingers for a hernia!  LOL

Molly, I had a hernia but it never hurt. Sometimes I think that the doc was lying to me but who cares......it was removed over a year ago and I got my panni removed at the same time. Insurance paid for most of it, I had a hefty copay but it was manageable.

Good luck to you and keep us posted!!!!

Thanks Molly for the reassurance :-) I never wanna be away from you gals, I love our december board even if it hasn't been as active.. it is still alive! I appreciate all of you on here more than I can even express in words!

I like your answers to the questions and many of those replies I can relate to.  However #4 about the other revision patients.. wow.. u got me thinking, thats a deep answer and ya know.. very well thought out and most would never consider that it could affect future postops. That is the type of person u are though, just so gosh darn caring.. thats what we love about you Molly!!

Hope u are hanging in there.. how are those kitties doing?

This is exciting however I am worried as you mention pain when you push or lift... some hernias can be very serious so just be careful and watch for further warning signs, increased pain or changes in bowel habits etc.. b/c a hernia is usually bowel that has pushed through the muscle lining and blood supply can be interrupted causing ischemia (lack of oxygen) to the bowel and in turn necrosis (death of the tissue - or loss of bowel in this case).

I am not trying to scare you but just want you to be able to on the look out for any possible complications if it were to worsen if that is indeed what it is.

On a lighter note this may mean a free TT.. yeah for you!!!!! ;)
