Topic: RE: Is your body holding on to pounds?
I had surgery ont he 17th as well. I do not feel like I have lost anything. But apparently i have gone down 30 pounds. I just got cleared for part 1 of stage 3 foods. So dinner tonight was some mahi mahi..But that is all i could get down. I did not know that you could hit a plateu at the different food stages..now I do! Maybe it will keep me from freaking out! lol Congrats on the lose. Did you take your body measurements? I didn't I think I will do that tonight. I hear that you can't always rely ont he pounds lost. you may just be redistributing..

Hi Nancy . . . I can feel my port . . . but I have to actually TRY to feel it with my fingers . . . other than that . . . I wouldn't even know it is there. I'm just over a month out, and I have no restrictions and have no pain (from the lapband . . . my hip and knee and back are another story lol). I had an easy time of the surgery . . . some people have more pain than I had. If you do what you are supposed to do, I would say the worst is over in a week. I was back at work in one week, but some others have said 2 or 3 weeks was better for them. Hope this helps. Chris

Topic: RE: Protein question
I am just 3 weeks post op but I still have some problems with protein shakes. I find that Carnation Instant Breakfast is good in the AM. My Dr. had me using skim milk, drinking very slowly and taking a good 30 minutes for both eating and drinking. It did help the queasy feeling and now in my 3rd week, I get to eat some protein too, berry smoothies made with vanilla flavored protein mix are really good. Keep experimenting and good luck! :o

Topic: RE: Help ! New pain after 3 weeks???
I ended up going in to see the Dr and he determined it was actually an allergic reaction to the stitches. Told me to apply Cortizone Cream and WOW in less than 2 days I was feeling MUCH better! Thanks for responding.
