Hi, I have researched and researched on the net regarding Gastric Bypass Surgery. What is the next step? to speak to my family doctor? does she need to recommend me to a specialist? Does anyone know of a surgeon in Calgary what performs this surgery? Dr. Colquhoun in Saskatchewan is on medical leave and will be retiring so no one in Sask to do this surgery.

There is also a new program you could look into with new surgeons doing lap band I believe you have to be accepted into a weigh management program. I have only seen this talked about on line. I see Dr Farries and he has the shortest wait times you call in once a year to fill appointments for that year. The other Drs are far longer but you can call every week to look for a cancellation .
