Lap band info

Does anyone in Calgary do the Lap Band procedure, and what is the wait time?

Hi BJ, I didn't get my lapband done in Calgary. Had mine done in Mississauga Ontario, but there is 2 doctors that I can remember their name that does that lap band in Calgary. Dr. Phillip Mitchell Ph.#264 6720 and Dr. Jean-Gaston Descoteaux Ph#220-2859. Dr. Descoteaux is SUPER NICE. Very soft spoken and caring. The waiting time I'm not 100% sure but it has to be at least a year, because they only do 24 lapband a year. You have to go through certain steps also before surgery. You have to go and meet with the dietician and all that good stuff. For my surgery I only waited 2 months, but I paid for it. I had it done privately. My doctor (Dr. Chris Cobourn) in Ontario is the one that came down to train the Calgary doctors last May. Anyways call one of the Drs. I know before I went for my surgery in Ontario, I called Dr. Descoteaux and was able to see him within 3 weeks for an initial appointment. Good luck and hope that helps you a little bit. Nathalie
