hi everyone. I've heard the wait times for surgery in Alberta are upwards of five years. How long did everyone have to wait?

I went through the Red Deer Clinic. I went to Orientation April 1. You are required to lose 10% of your starting weight to qualify for surgery. I was approved for surgery in late September and had Laproscoptic Sleeve Gastrectomy on Nov 12. Not long at all.

Hi Gemini,

Everyone's journey is different . . It will be two years for me from when I started with the weight wise clini****il my actual surgery. I had a lot of emotional issues to go through, it was worth every step.

I also paused the process once for 3-4 months because I wasn't really sure that surgery was what I wanted.

All the best!

When did you have your surgery YEGgirl? Was it in Calgary?

I haven't heard anything close to that.  I'm going to the red deer clinic too.  Orientation October 8th and I got approved for surgery February 3rd. Scope booked for April 24th.  They said it's about a 3 month wait once the surgery is approved.  So hopefully May sometime.
