Thanks Linda! I couldn't sleep last night and this morning I'm sick to my stomach with nerves. I hope I'm not the only one who ever felt this way.

Nope, no balloons for me, but I do want to wish you the very best in Mexico!  I had my surgery there 17 months ago and it is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I hope your travel and recovery are equally smooth. All the best to you :)

I'm extremely nervous today, wish I could calm my nerves somehow. Did well on the liquid diet, not so great at blowing up the balloons as I couldn't find the right balloons. Anyone NOT have to blow up balloons before their surgery? Dr Joya recommends it. Asking for your prayers for the surgery to go well and a speedy recovery. Home on Saturday if all goes well.

Morning Calla

if you ever come up to Edmonton I would love to meet you. I've been very focused on school so haven't been following the forum and was wondering how you are doing.

i am stuck 20lbs out from goal but feeling amazing, I'm a size 32 guess skinny jean now which to me is totally amazing because I always dreamed of being a size 18 as a teenager and now I'm basically a 12!

Let me know how you are doing.

best wishes

velma

Topic: RE: panni surgery in one week

I found this surgery a little more painful than the RNY.  But nothing that I couldn't bear.  Especially with a few painkillers and lots of resting.  Take your pain meds, drink lots of water, eat protein and walk around your house as much as you can.  I found that sleeping in a recliner in the living room helped.  I also took Restorlax everyday to prevent constipation and increased pushing.  I wore tank tops under my binder to prevent chafing.  I had a love/hate relationship with my binder.  I loved the support it provided, but hated that it rolled up along the bottom.  I had my hubby help me put it on or readjust it in the mornings before he left for work.  It should feel pretty tight.  But not too tight.  I was told to put nothing on my incision.  No creams or complete submersion in water until it was completely healed.  Showers are fine.  You will probably have some swelling.  Maybe not right away but it will come.  So don't freak out when after surgery your tummy is flat and then suddenly a few days/weeks later, it looks puffy.  It will become flat again.  Good luck with your surgery and recovery.  You will love the results.

Topic: abh cover a panni after mexico surgery

anyone have there surgery done in mexico and than have a panni covered by abh after or any other plastics after.  it sounds like it is pretty automatic for a referal and coverage if you have your weight loss done in alberta by an alberta surgeon but my DR said it will probably not be covered even if i should meet the criteria because i have my surgery in mexico.  anyone else have expirenced this. did you get yours covered? was it a fight? who did yours?

Congrats on getting your panni done. Just wondering about Dr DeGara, is he/she a plastic surgeon or just a surgeon in general. I've been discharged from ww clinic for about 2 years now as I'm 3 years 5 months out from surgery. I have seen Dr Toy but honestly having to pay extra to have a tummy tuck isn't in my budget right now. I would love to have a second consult and see exactly with would be said and what can be done. Dr. Toy does monsplasty along with panni and tummy tuck, does Dr DeGara do the same. I'm thinking if I had just the panni done I'd be left with a muffin top but would still like a second opinion.

I look forward to seeing photo's and hearing more about this part of your journey. Congrats again.

Kee.
