Topic: panni surgery in one week

Well in one week I get my extra skin taken off my stomach. While I am so excited to have it gone, I nervous about the pain and drains I will have afterwards.

Any words of wisdom from those who have gone through it before? Was the results what you expected? I will post before and after pics after I have healed a bit.

Thanks

From my understanding is that in Canada no surgeon does the DS,  That is strictly a States thing.  At least that is what I was told 2 years ago when I was researching the types of WLS.

LOL, I bet you are. I would be too. Yes my mom is going with me. I'm sorry you are going alone, I can't even imagine how hard that would be. I have lots of support here too but do have some that just don't want me to do it! I can understand their concerns but my health is a concern too! I'm excited too.

I'm just counting down the hours until that salad tonight, believe you me!  Do you have anyone going with you or will it be just you going to Mexico?  I think I passed the point of nervousness, I'm just excited to get there and get it done ha! There's still a twinge of nervousness with it because I'll be going it alone, and mostly because I don't wanna have to do any surgery by myself, but I know I have a large support system back home that will be checking in on my constantly!

I started today actually, protein shake for breakfast and lunch and a salad with protein for dinner until 3 days before than go all out clear liquid diet.  I have a few different ones I'm using. I actually picked up some carnation complete breakfast shakes which are super tasty, then I have stole some of my hubby's muscle building protein shake for lunch today because it's super tasty.  I just ordered some "Designer Whey Protein 2 Go" packets, they are different flavors and are like the little packets you use to flavor water bottles with, just dump it into your water drink and go.  I hope they're tasty because I ordered 3 boxes lol.

That's awesome. We will have to keep tabs on each other. LOL. Have you started your liquid diet yet? What did you choose for a protein shake?

I have done my research. Everyone has nothing but great things to say about him. I'm having the gastric sleeve done. I have thought about getting it done somewhere in Canada but its double the cost. I researched him 6 years ago too when I was thinking about it so this is a long time coming. LOL. Thanks so much, starting my liquid diet tomorrow. Nervous about that too.

Hi again Treena,

have you done your research on this doc in Mexico? I know you can have complications from surgery doing it anywhere, but.... Have you asked people on the main boards, or the board for the type of surgery you are going to do ie RNY what they know about him and his clinic.  Have you thought about getting it done atleast somewhere in Canada?  it is an income tax deduction.  Good luck my friend, I have never had even one regret about having done it....BTW which procedure are you having done?
