BB,
Thanks for the post back. I am not bitter, just like to sound tough I do ~ chuckles ~ I like many as I get older find I have little or no patience for stupidity. I am not a follower and don't even consider myself a leader. I just want do my own thing. "Live and let live "
I know its an old cliche but it is what it is ~ I don't want to have a 100 friends, done that and it far to much work. I was always the life of the party, always the one that wanted to have fun fun fun !! But. . I take many issues seriously. My weight being one of them.
I know how I got here now. and I work hard each day to convince myself that I " deserve " to be healthy happy etc.
Good for you on the weight loss. That is excellent !!!
Anger is a waste of my time and energy. but I'm not perfect and some days I am glad that no one had phoned or came to visit . . laughs
I'm sorry to hear that you are in severe pain. I understand. . I have RA , a hip that is shot and must be replaced. I sound like an old car needing to be restored !!!
hmmm do I know a "male" I assume by the name of xcalibur . . I use to chat with a very nice gentleman from Edmonton I believe. I knew his sister and her husband. If its the same man please say hello.
Alright BB I am off for now. Keep me posted okay.
Lori
Great start on your weight loss !!!
I am glad to hear that your feeling good. Infection huh ?? mmm I am most worried about infection as I am the one that will get one before anyone else. sheesh. . .
My surgery date is Nov 7th of this year. I am booked in Tijuana Mx. I fly down on the 6th, surgery performed the 7th, 2 day recovery in the hospital, 2 day recovery at the hotel and then we will spend an extra night/day in SD before flying home. I am so freaking excited !! lol . . I think I might have said that like a million times now . . does a happy dance !!
I am very very excited about getting this act on the road !!! .
Yes, I have been approved by the surgeon there Dr Venezuela and my own GP here in Okotoks, as well I completed the WLS program in Calgary and was told that I was a great candidate but may not make it this time around as there were many many other before me. No waiting for this lady. Once I got the sweet smell of success and put my mind to it nothing was going to side track me away from my goal. I deserve to be healthy and feel great happiness because all the " slices of my pie" are a balance. Analogy sucks here but it works if you enjoy a good laugh !!
I enjoy hearing about how your doing. Please keep posting
I think like You I will be okay with the pre op diet. I did a liquid diet many years ago and I was fine on it.
Lets talk soon

Hi Everyone,
I really like reading every ones stories and seeing what works for you. Its gives me ideas and is a source of encouragement.
How do you exercise? I started in January, 2 months after my surgery. I figured that was enough time to heal and the New Year
was a great time to start. At first I started driving home at lunch time and walking back to work...it took me about 25 minutes...then I would walk home after work which was another 25 minutes. Even though the weather and sidewalks wasn't so great I persevered. On the crappy weather days I used my elliptical that I had had for years but was gathering dust. After a bit I found a recumbent bike at a garage sale so I would have a variety.
After a few months my energy and strength increased and I was finding that I could do a half hour of either my ellipitical and bike in the morning....half hour of walking at lunch and then half hour of walking after work. I changed my route so I could do the full half hour.
Eventually I incorporated a evening half hour of either swimming, riding street bikes with my husband or just walking with my daughter around town.
I find the 4 half hour increments work for me and break up my day.....and with the variety of options, I look forward to exercising every day.
Now I have started weights every other day to tone my arms.
So tell me.....What works for YOU!!
I am doing surprisly well :0) I had a rough go in the hospital (i got a infection but they cleared it up fast) I actually don't mind the liquid diet (even tho everyone around me is eating solids lol). I am surprised that I have lost so much weight in less than a week
I am down about 13 pounds . the pain not bad i barely feel any now just the incision sites (i have 6) .
Just wanted to know if you have been cleared for surgery ? If you have you won't wait much longer.
Good luck with your journey (although it is frustrating it is worth the wait)
Pauline

One of our group had RNY (type 2 diabetic and severe reflux before surgery, so RNY was her best choice) the other 3 have sleeves. I or we'd love to meet you for coffee sometime if you'd like.

I also would recommend the EBSG Support group. We have people that have had surgery in the clinic and we also have people who have had surgery in other parts of the country and Mexico. Look up the date of the next meeting on the Website. It would be nice to see you there and you could also ask us any questions that you might have before your surgery.
~ encouraging bit of advice Pauline ~ smiles
Congrats to you on having surgery done . . . how are you feeling today?
Please keep us updated on your journey. I am so happy for you ~ does a happy dance ~ grins.
