Haven't had surgery yet.... scheduled for Sept 4 YAY

Surgeon told me I could go back to modified work at 4 wks if feeling ok, full work after 6 wks....... but my other job involves very heavy lifting and he suggested 3-4 months minimum

So all depends on your job, recovery, complications ect

Another vote here for Dr Aceves. He sleeved my sis and me last year, my hubby 2 months ago and our elder daughter last month. All of us were impressed by the quality of care and are very happy with our new and improved lives.

Hey Fiona

I have a servus membership and have used their personal trainers to get the ball rolling. It's a good idea when you are starting a new exercise program, helps prevent injuries as well as gets you started at the right intensity.

i also use a private personal trainer who is trained in corrective training to fix existing problems. He was instrumental in getting me in tip top pre surg shape which made my surgery and recovery a breeze.

Personal training is pricey but well worth it considering what we are personally investing in our health.

will you be attending the EBSG meeting Thursday?

Consider Dr Aceves in Mexicali. I had such a beautiful experience with him and his team.

I had mine ( lap RNY ) in Mexico 4 week ago. If I was still doing my desk job I could have been back to work pretty much at week 2.

I think it depends on what type of work she does.  Most surgeries say 6 weeks.  I had open RNY and returned to work after 3 weeks part-time but I do driving for foster kids so really just in and out of my vehicle, no lifting.

I took 6 weeks off. I have a desk job but I also lift boxes of records. 6 weeks was good. I had lap RNY.

The pre-op liquid diet is one of the toughest things you will have to do. Personally, my post-op recovery was much easier!  Here's hoping the same for you :)

Thank you so much!  I am a little scared but am looking forward to it, too.  I am looking forward to getting my life back .....or maybe finding my life for the very first time! I had the band put in 18 months ago and the experience was horrible and so I am a little afraid of a repeat but the doctor feels confident that the sleeve will NOT cause me the same problems.

I will post again after surgery.  :)

I don't think I will want to drink another Ensure again ....EVER!!!  Ha Ha
