I find raw veggies are my best answer to the evening munchies. I can't physically hold a whole lot, so calories are very low, and they satisfy my need to crunch. 3-4 sliced up baby carrots or a stalk or 2 of celery with a little cheese whiz or PB and I'm both full and satisfied.
If I want sweet, I like an apple - sliced up and sprinkled with cinnamon.
And... I confess to eating the occasional 2-cup bowl of home popped popcorn. I CAN eat a lot more popcorn than that, so I serve myself a single bowlful - no seconds.
As to carb counting - nope. Non-negotiable are water and protein, somewhat negotiable is calories, although I generally stay at about 800. Carbs - I avoid processed and/or white carbs, such as anything made with white flour, white rice, white pasta, commercial cookies, cakes, pastries...
I do eat occasional small portions of whole grain pasta, bread, potatoes and sweet potatoes. I also eat instant oatmeal for breakfast 1-2 times a week, and other than making sure I stay within my calories and get in my protein I don't worry about it.
I'm inclined to think that the people *****ally restrict carbs are the ones that go crazy eating them whenever they allow any in. When they're part of your normal diet they aren't nearly as seductive.

Oh gosh, yes I am. Next Thursday to be exact and I am quite nervous about it. I know I am in good hands with Dr. Nohr, but its still a little scary.
Thanks for your reply....yea I find it hard not to snack after supper. The day time is fine. Yes I can walk sometimes up to 2 hours a day so maybe this is my bodies way of needing extra food for that.
I don't carb count...but I still watch my sugar and carbs. We need some carbs. I know we get okay carbs from fruits and veggies and milk etc... All I do is try to limit my refined carb intake. Like little to no white flour or noodles, bread, crackers, chips, rice. I even watch whole grains as it can be a slippery slope for me. I am not going to say I never eat crackers or cookies, or a bite or two of pizza, or even sushi rolls once in awhile. But I am aware it's not the best in excess. When I can I will buy stuff that is low carb and low sugar, or no added sugar. So far its been okay and I am not gaining weight but I think I am still malabsorbing. I am not losing either.
It's something I watch, but not too the point of counting. I think I heard once not more than 140 carbs daily to maintain. Obviously much less to lose. If you exercise a lot, you can probably eat more. Occasionally I will use the app myfitnesspal to see how I am doing with numbers, but not regularly. I hear you about the appetite returning. It's getting harder..... Eek! Good luck!
Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if any of you carb count? I keep to a high protein diet plus lots of fiber and healthy food choices but heard from a few people that they carb count.
If so how much carbs do you consume?
My weight loss has slowed(which I expected) and my appetite has returned especially in the evenings so I am trying to control this so it doesn't get out of hand. I thought carb counting might help.
Any feedback would be helpful.
Congrats on all your accomplishments!! Great success and wishes for lots more!!
Because its cheaper and I don't have to wait 4 years
Why have you decided to go to Mexico as opposed to having it at the Weight Wise clinic? I am just curious.
