What an amazing and uplifting post! I am so happy FOR you! Love love love your message!
10 weeks post-op.....I'm not taking any meds!!!! Yeah! When you think that a couple of weeks ago I was taking meds for diabetes (both metformin and insulin), cholesterol, high blood pressure, depression, muscles relaxant and sleeping pills.
And now I'm only taking my multivitamin and my b12.....
I was going at the pool so often that my swimsuit is good for the garbage bin...I don't have the money til friday to have a new one...so I downloaded some zumba training game on the kids's video game console....I just did 20 minutes....another 20 minutes tonight and I'll be extremely happy with my self...
And in top of it, I can clean my house...ok not all by myself....but WAY much more than before....
So, as a reward, I went at the hair salon to have something new (I had my hair blond below the shoulders and now it's really short, black with turquoise accent), I'm waiting for my new glasses this friday and a new purse and coordinated wallet next week :) It's amazing how wonderful it is to spend the same amount of money to pamper myself instead of buying meds....
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE my sleeve!!!

I was book for November and had mine done this past Friday. They called Wednesday with a cancelation and I said yes! In/Out...super easy procedure.
Thank you Miss Calla!
Hope things are going well for you, too.
:)
I had a VSG in Calgary 10 months ago and would do it again tomorrow! Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
Hi, I'm from Calgary as well, but had Rny done in med hat. I don't have any advice to your situation, but just wanted to wish you good luck and success!

I actually had a good experience with the Calgary Weight Management program. It was a LONG wait but I was happy with the program. I was approved for the band and had it placed for 18 months but due to constant vomiting they removed it last December. I am anticipating having the SLEEVE done in Calgary, though I don't have a date yet.
I know many people were frustrated with the classes and the weigh ins. However, I found it very valuable and the expertise of the dieticians and physicians ....priceless.
The wait was horrible and I do believe that in a city of our size that there should be additional funding for more surgeries and programs within Calgary. I was prepared to travel to have my surgery done but then my name finally came up to be a part of the program after an agonizing 4 year wait. I was not guaranteed a surgical spot but I felt that the additional information was helpful to me.
I have heard wonderful things about some of the other programs in Alberta, as well.
Just my two cents worth! :)
