Topic: AHC and plastics anyone?
Anyone get approved for plastics from AHC? I know that they will do a panniculectomy and breast reduction if deemed medically necessary. I have my consultation in the first week of February with a Lethbridge plastic surgeon and I am very nervous. Anyone get approved for both of these? I want to see if I can get them done at the same time. anyone have any comments or suggestions to give me some hope. I have lost over 120 pounds from RNY in March 2014. I am very unhappy with my lower skin (panniculectomy) and my breasts. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I seen surgeon July 2 at Richmond Road after being approved by psychologist. My Surgery is January 21. This Wednesday.

1st surgery appointment was for surgeon to talk about what you've tried before and see if you qualify for surgery in Alberta.  BMI etc.

I seen Dr. Church at Richmond Road but was triage to Dr. Mitchell

I'm only 16 day post op so I can't relate to your symptoms as far as Surgery goes, but I will say the dizziness, weakness and fatigue can be symptoms of MANY things and may not be surgery related at all. I'd think that if you're getting all of your nutritional needs, taking your vitamins and supplements and getting all of your fluids in, then it could be something Non-surgery related. You mention that you're a month shy of your 2 year surgiversary and scheduled appointment. If it were me, I'd go ahead a schedule an appointment with my primary physician now. Your PCP can order some basic labs just as easily as your WL clinic and can also give you a good look over or physical now. If it's something not related to your surgery and post-op changes, then your PCP will best know what else to look for based on your symptoms. I hope it's nothing serious and that you feel better soon!

I am month short of my two years since my surgery, I could not be happier- but I have been dealing with these bizarre symptoms lately, wondering if anyone else is dealing with the same thing. I need to get some blood work done - but in the mean time wondering about other RNY patients. My Symptoms are : dizzy, weak, and extreme fatigue

Hi again!

Sorry for my delay in responding. I've been quite sick and in and out of hospital but am hopefully on the mend.  I would love to meet up with anyone that is interested.  I am available some daytime hours, some evenings and most weekends ( day or evening).  Anyone is welcome to come.

I know the Starbucks at Brentwood Mall has quite a large number of tables just outside the coffee shop that would be perfect for a meet up (less noisy and lots of room).  Is this a good location?  I am open to suggestions but would just love to get together with anyone else on this weightloss journey ....no matter what stage you are at.  :)

I have finished all classes and am on the tail end of everything.  I was told that after my meeting with the psychologist (Jan 19), I then have my first meeting with the surgeon which will be at the old children's hospital. I know I have to meet with surgeon twice. Is the first apt to discuss the different types of surgery?  Is this were he says "You're approved" or does the psychologist make that say.  I know the second surgeon apt is to sign consent forms,  but was wondering about the first apt and  I was curious how long people have waited to meet with surgeon after their psychologist appt.  Is it a long wait for an apt with him.  If I had it my way Id meet psychologist and surgeon in the same week, but then again patience has never been my strong suit ;-)

thanks again for the helpful input
