I have been researching weight loss surgery in Mexico for the past two years. I finally was able to make the decision to go ahead with the procedure this year. I researched the Weight loss forever program out of Alberta and Sask. but after more research and price comparisons I decided to go with Specialized Bariatrics with Dr. Lopez in Puerto Vallarta for half of the costs that WLF was quoting. The reason for this is that I set everything up on my own, including my air fair and connecting with local doctors and dieticians in my home community. I do know that if you are looking at wanting to complete weight loss surgery though Alberta Health Services it can be a very lengthy process, I am currently partaking in that process right now, however I did not want to wait almost 2 years for the surgery its self and that is why I chose to go with surgery in Mexico.

If you get turned away just go down to Mexico and have it done. There was no hassle, no appointments, and honestly you couldn't be treated any better in canada

just a 1 week diet and I was good to go

i went through specialized bariatrics for my surgery and they are telling me that they only have a lump sum package amount and cannot give me a break down of charges and with out a break down of charges i cannot claim it with alberta health or taxes. anyone ever get a broken down receipt from them and who did you speak with/who was your coordinator. i am pretty sure all my claims will be rejected with out this info and i am sure that i once saw someone say they had gotten a break down with them but i cannot find it.
