I can't remember how long it took...lol at the time it seemed like forever but now it seems like forever ago! A few months I think and then my first date got cancelled and rebooked a month later.
I'm going through the Red Deer Climic and today I finally lost that 10% needed. So I see the surgeon again in May and then should be put on the list. Once you guys got on the waiting list how long did it take before you got a date? My surgeon is Dr.Menezes if anyone has any feed back on him as well would be much appreciated! Thanks.
Wishing you a speedy recovery !

Good luck tomorrow Shelly! Please do post back how your surgery and recovery went!

I go in for my sleeve surgery tomorrow at Red Deer. I can hardly believe that it is finally here after feeling like an eternity of watching others post about their surgery and such and yet other times it seems just like yesterday I spoke to my doctor about getting a referral.
I used to get annoyed with people posting about their up and coming surgery dates for I felt so far away from it myself but know this, it will come faster than you can imagine and suddenly you are a bundle of nerves knowing that its suddenly here.
Take care everyone!
All in my surgery was just under $6, 000 I had a hernia and an ulcer and it was revision so that was extra. Revision surgery took a lot longer than just sleeve. I was in operating room for about 4.5 hours.
A lighter me and dr elias Ortiz.
I have some good news for those of us who had the surgery in Mexico, Alberta health and the Calgary bariatric surgeons are in talks about opening a clinic for us were we would have access to the same type of people that non self-pay individuals have.
