Topic: OT: Okay, dont flame me.. Alaska question
Hi,
My daughter was telling me the it is dark 6 months out of the year there from AM to PM, and that the other 6 months it is day light from AM to PM. Now I knew about the day light for some months out of the year but I was not sure about the length of time or that they flip like that 6 and 6. So my question is: is she right?
Thanks,
Sherrie

Topic: RE: Lap Band Question
I called Dr Todd's office yesterday and I was told the same thing. Bring all my records that I can. I have already contact Dr Weiner, My doctor here and he is sending them. I heard the Dr Todd is the most experienced one and the cost is less also. I am Active duty military so I will be having to pay for the fills myself. Tri-care will not pay for AD members (funny huh, they will pay for dependants but not the member themselves). I was banded Dec 20th. My first fill will be here in about 2 weeks. It will be nice to meet someone in AK. I have never been there before. My family and I are so excited.

Topic: RE: Lap Band Question
Hi Tracy~
I have a friend here in the Anchorage area who was also banded in Germany last year; her husband was banded in Italy. They live here but he works in Europe. Anyway, he gets fills in Europe but she has her fills here. She saw Dr. Cable at HealthSouth, 907-550-6100. He's pricey tho--$475 per fill and she said he wanted CASH.
I was banded Nov. 25th in Mexico (self-pay) and am in the process of gathering all the documents Dr. Todd wants to do the fills. He has more experience that Dr. Cable, and I hope to get Aetna insurance to pay for them. Be sure to bring ALL of your documents with you from Germany including your pre-op reports, hosptial records, and surgical report, written in English. Dr. Todd wants all of those documents to look over before he will consider taking you on as a patient. He is the most experienced bariatric surgeon in Anchorage and does all of the fills himself.
Good luck, and feel free to contact me when you get to Anchorage. When were you banded?

Hi Tracy,
Try Dr. Michael Todd, Alaska Bariatric Center. There is a website...www.alaskabariatriccenter.com. I am waiting for a surgery date now and Dr. Todd will do it. I live in Fairbanks and will travel to Anchorage. I think you will really love him. Just be sure you have all your records with you.

Topic: RE: VITAMIN SURVEY
Each morning, I take Centrum Silver (I'm 51), and then I take Wal-Mart's Spring Valley brands of biotin, magnesium, B-12, Omega 3 Fish oils, and Calcium Citrate. I like the natural vitamins that are taken several times a day. Oh, and the chewable vitamin C is delicious!!!
Topic: Lap Band Question
I have had the Gastric Lap band procedure done in Germany. We are moving to Achorage in March '05. I was wondering if anyone here has any information on good, reputable doctors who perform fills in the Anchorage area. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.
