Tannehill AGAIN!
This morning, Kyle was so sick. He didn't even get to make it to church. I went on with Christian. After church, Holly and Beau went and changed clothes and came over and picked me up to go back to Tannehill to walk around. We didn't buy a thing, just walked and took in the beauty of it all. It was another wonderful afternoon. Now home and trying to relax. Christian is spending the night again and staying home with his Papa and Pop tomorrow while Holly is at school. My Daddy loves to come over and help watch Christian. Christian has brought my Daddy back to life.....they LOVE each other so much.
Well, I'm going to go relax...if I can and hope that Christian will settle down sometime soon. I need my beauty rest for work tomorrow. ha ha!!! I really am just plain out tired.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

I had my flu shot a little over a week ago. For the first time, I had absolutely no reaction to it. No site soreness, no aches, no fever, NO NOTHING. I was wondering if I really got the flu shot! Fourtunately, they
gave them to us at work so it was a freebie for me.
The nurse doing them gave me the shot while I was on the phone talking to a doctor's office ! Quick and painless.
Glad that you got to enjoy another day at Tannehill.
I am going to have to check out that place someday. I have never been there. Birmingham, right?
The price of gas put a halt to a lot of my traveling around this summer. Geez.....but, today I went to
fill up and the station near my house had it for $2.62 a gallon. That will make the trip to Birmingham and PF Changs this coming weekend, a little less painful.
Of course getting to see everyone again will erase all the pain of the pump!

OK...I really do have to get settled down and get some sleep tonight. I am going to go back to work tomorrow.
I did work Thursday but did not feel up to it Friday...so I missed three days (Tuesday/Wednesday & Friday) last week and I have some catching up to do. I go back to the surgeon Tuesday but that is at 7:45 in the morning. I will be out of there and to work --- and only a few minutes late that day.
Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight and wake up rested and feeling ready to go!

We aren't scheduled to get our flu shots at work till November 17th. I don't know if we can wait that long. But their free and I feel we need to wait. I can get mine free due to my health issues anyway and I'm sure Kyle can too with his COPD. I may just call the dr. office and find see what they think. I just don't wanna have to wait hours just to get a shot.
I hope you have a good week back at work. I'm really exhausted from my wonderful weekend. It's been the greatest....being with family and all. All that was missing was Kyle. Got to spend the day with Jill and her bf and Christian yesterday and today with Beau, Holly and Christian. What more could a Mother/Nana ask for??? I just wish Kyle had felt like going with us today.
Talk to you soon and I sure do hope to get to see you Saturday.

You and EVERYONE ELSE as well may want to look at the State Health Department for the Flu shots. The State, through the County Health Departments will provide the Flu Vaccine free to everyone regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. Another good thing about going through the Health Department is that they will also provied the Pneumonia vaccine FREE of charge.
If you time it just right, you can avoid the crowds and get right in, get the vaccines and get right back out.
I missed ours at work one year and because of that, I went to the Health Department and got both vaccines in one visit. The Pneumonia vaccine is good for five years but the flu...well, we all know, has to be done each year.
Just and idea--and one that can save money and time!

Thank you so much for sharing the information though, because I know it will help someone else out there needing to get their shots.
TO EVERYONE: PLEASE GET YOUR FLU SHOTS THIS YEAR! IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!
I guess I should call my Rhuematologist, but do you think that getting these shots would make me sicker?? That's what I am SO afraid of. I am battling this so much right now anyway....

With all your health concerns, it would be best to ask your physician(s), however, the Flu shot is highly recommended for persons with compromised immune systems, so I am guessing you would be a good candidate to get the vaccine. The injectible flu vaccine
is NOT a live virus and does not cause the flu. You can sometimes have mild flu like symptoms after receiving the vaccine, but you will NOT get the flu from having the flu vaccine. Often the mild symptoms one will experience can be avoided by taking a dose of Acetaminophen or Ibuprophen immediately prior to receiving the injection.
I would think you would be ok to take the vaccine, but again, best to ask your health care provider. I am SURE you would be better off with the Vaccine than to have a case of the actual Flu.
I always get my vaccine and even with the vaccine, two years ago, I developed a documented (Lab verified) case of the flu and it was miserable. I have often heard others say and have said myself that I thought I had the flu because of symptoms--achiness, cough, fever, sore throat...all the usual--but let me tell you, I have never felt like I did when I actually had the Flu. It hurt to even touch my skin. Every bone and joint in my body ached and my head felt like ti would explode. Although the flu is viral, they put me an antibiotics and Tamiflu. It took well over a week for it to run its course and it was a rough week.
You don't want to risk an illness like that when you already have the health concerns that you do. I would definately ask my health care provider and get the shot unless they specifically advise against it.

But if you go ahead and get the approval of your doc, you will be ready to get the vaccine once you are over your fever.
Good Luck and I hope you feel better soon.
