The most fabulous weekend

We are so tired but it is a good tired.  This has been the best weekend.  Jimmy and I traveled to Jasper Friday.  We took our time and got to the motel in time enough to rest awhile before we went to the service.  Of course I had to make a run to Walmart before church.  It was such a blessing for Jimmy and I to have our friends in service with us.  You will never know how much it really meant to us.  I tried to warn everyone that we were going to be in a pentecostal church and you never know what might happen.  I hope no one was too scared!!  Then on Saturday we traveled back home.  We stopped several times looking for some trim Jimmy needed to finish a job he is working on.  We could not find it so to Mobile we went.  We got home about 9:30 last night.  We hit the road again this morning for our Sunday service.  We sang one song in the morning service and then did the singing this afternoon.  We saw many friends we have known for so long.  It was good to renew friendships.
I think I am about to go lay down for a little while.  Scott will be home in a few hours.  His girlfriend has his truck so I will have to get up and go pick him up.  So I will rest for a bit.  I hope you all had a good weekend also.

I wasn't exactly scared but I have never seen anybody so filled with the spirit that they passed out. And landed on my foot. I was afraid to move my foot out from under her head and disterb her. But when they brought a blanket and covered her up I thought I might have to set there all night and let my left foot be her pillow. She was out for over 15 minutes and I checked her breathing and pulse ever 30 seconds. I sure was relieved when she got up and walked. I've got to get out more and visit more churches. I need educating.
I can't brag enough about the singing. Thanks again. Love, Miss Mary

Well where I come from I have seen them like that for over an hour. Her husband went and helped her up. The blanket was a surprise to me, one of the deacons took off their Jacket and the women done the covering.  When I speak of it I am not making fun of it either. I have seen Gods Healing thru prayer lines. Some things I have seen as a child I don't tell cause people think your crazy. I do not make fun of Gods work. When Gods involved you can feel his presence. Love you Miss mary

Debbie, we Pentacostals call it "slain in the spirit" not passing out.  Sounds like you all had a holy spirit filled service.  You can tell when God's spirit is present and there are no "CD's" or Courtesy Drops when people are prayed for.  CD's are what happens when Benny Hinn prays for people or blows on them.

Mary, your story reminded me of an event that happened to Brenda one night at a church in Guntersville.  A friend of ours had been told she probably needed open heart surgery and was scheduled for an Arteriogram on a Monday.  On Sunday night she was prayer for and fell partially on Brenda and partially in the floor.  She stopped breathing for a few moments and her lips turned blue.  Just as Brenda was about to render aid the woman came too and shouted all over the church.  The next day we accompanied her and her son to Gadsden for the test.  After the test the surgeon came and got us and her son and took us to a room to show us the film of the test.  He said he didn't understand what he was seeing.  He had seen her record and was aware of her previous exams but her arties were perfectly clear.  He kept repeating how he couldn't understand.  We told him about what had happened the night before and he admitted something had to have happened.  God is Great!

Take care and God bless.

Hi Brenda I was raised Pentecostal And I know slain-ed in the spirit. My grandfather & grandmother were preachers, as I have 3 Uncles that are preachers and 1 a deacon. Speaking in tongues and interpation is all I know . As a child I remember the women in church kept their hair in little buns and when the spirit moved they would shout them out in the spirit I remember seeing their hair fall from the bun to hanging below their waist. I have seen healing in prayer lines and attendened churches with saw dust floors. My grandfather headed up the welcome wagon when someone new moved in town, and I know he leads the welcome wagon in Heaven.  I didn't want you to think I was blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

Hey there my dear friends!!!!  Now...I loved the service.  I like for it to get a bit rowdy.  If we can go and hoot and holler for a football game, we should be excited and hoot and holler even more for a King who came to earth to die for me and you and everyone here.  NOW...that is exciting!!!!  I love y'all and cannot wait until I can be in service with you again.
