Hi Deb,
Welcome to our Bama board family!! It depends on the surgeon as to how long it will take after you get approved. For me It was about 3 weeks after I got my approval.  Hope you keep us updated on how you are doing!!

Hi Deb,
Welcome to the Bama Board.  The secret pal is being directed this time by Sandi Cushway.  I don't know if others can be added now or not.  Look for Sandi and send her a message.

Hey there and WELCOME.  Do you live in Tuscaloosa?  Once you are approved for surgery, it goes by rather quickly...like a week or so, depending on the doctor's schedule.  It's amazing how fast they are getting these things done these days.

Keep in toucn and if you have any questions. we're here for you.  I live in Tuscaloosa, right down from Dr. Bilton's office and know he and Beverly quite well.  Used to help out with their support groups alot a couple of years ago.

Yes, I live in Tuscaloosa. I went to my first DCH meeting last month. I can't wait until another one. Do you go?

I'm sure I will have lots of questions. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the Bama Board!  I am almost one year out from my RNY and am down 106 lbs!  Woo Hooo.  I had to do the 7 month supervised diet thing too.  Long long it takes depends on both your surgeon and your insurance.  My surgeon's office sent over my paperwork the same day as my appointment, but my insurance came back denied the first time.  I appealed and was approved a month later.  I have BCBSAL, who is notorious for denying the first time around.  How many months into your 7 month supervised diet are you?  We'll be cheering you on every step of the way!  For me the first couple of months just dragged by then the last few seemed to fly.  Before you know it, you'll be submitting.  What part of Alabama are you from?

I sent you a PM about the secret pal program.

Hi and Welcome! I could have had my surgery the following week. However, I opted to wait two more weeks until my hubby was on vacation so he could help care for me if I needed someone. The time passes by very fast. When thinking about it in terms of months, it seems like a long time. It really does go by fast! Best of luck and again, Welcome!
