Welcome to the Bama Board, Deb.  After my 7 months (and I also had BCBS), I was denied, but appealed and was approved.  Don't let this bother you because they had messed up my paper work at BCBS and that is why I was denied.  You should be able to go ahead soon after you complete your last weigh-in.  I wish you all the best.  Please let us hear from you.

The 7 month wait is the longest- most insurance companies are different so the waiting period after that should be easy. Make sure you follow their guidelines and go every single month to the doctor to weigh in!

 I also have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, but I have the Education type. My bariatric coordinator turned my packet into Blue Cross this afternoon and she got an approval online in less than an hour. Good Luck!

That was quick. I know you are jumping up and down. do you have a date yet? do you go to dch for your meetings?

 I was happy! If I hadn't hurt my back yesterday in a tumble down some stairs, I would have done naked cartwheels! I go to meetings here in Prattville. I moved away from Tuscaloosa once I graduated college in 2001. Good luck and let me know how everything goes!
