Momma's Birthday

The first picture is the cake my daughter made. The second picture is my momma with one of the great granddaughters. You cant tell in the picture how small she is but momma is probably down to between 100-110 pounds. Her speech is gone.. almost completely. She can still say "Hello" and a few one words but no sentences. She stil eats a few bites of soft food but has a feeding tube for most of her nutrition.

For those who do not know, my mom has Progressive Bulbar's Palsy / ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She has not had WLS . I dont want anyone to think her condiction is related to surgery. It is NOT.

Hi Gina.  The cake is fabulous!!  She did a good job.  I am glad you could celebrate with your mother.  Spend as much time as possible with her.  You will long for just one more visit in the times to come.  I speak from experience.  Hope you are having a good 4th and you convinced that hubby of your that the house work can wait!!

Gina, you sure look like your Momma.  What a precious grandbaby girl.  She's adorable.  How old is she?  I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's condition.  That's a horrible disease.  Just horrible.  I hope they can keep her as painfree as possible.  I know you will treasure these days with her .  What a pretty cake too.  Makes me wanna bite.

I used to look like my dad but the older I get, the more I look like my mom.

Jessalyn is 2 (I think). She's my sister's youngest grandbaby. She's the quietest kid I've ever seen. She never makes a peep. I cant say that about her brothers though. You never know what will come out of Jon's mouth next.. LOL.. he's a laugh a minute.
