Hi there! Antsy newbie has ?? for Roller patients...

Hi everyone, I m fairly new to OH and been hanging out on the VSg board but reading the local posts too. I have 3 kids (6 if you include the DH, the dog and cat - sorry honey!) so posting is sporadic at best.  I have appreciated all the information and support you have shared! Anyways, I just wanted to say Hello and ask a question of Dr. Roller patients. I have all tests done except my psych eval which is Wednesday. How long did it take for your tests to be reviewed? If I am deemed ready for surgery how long will it be before I get a surgery date? Just not sure how far out the office is scheduling and my DH needs to put in for time off as soon as possible since he shares a weekly on call schedule. I haven't wanted to call and bug the office but I did send a message through RemedyMD. Hi, Once they have all your stuff, it goes pretty quick.  If they needed to send off for any health records from any of your other doctors, you need to check and make sure they have everything they need.  Once they had all my stuff, I got my appt. with Dr. Roller for 3 wks out and my surgery date for the following week.  i got the first open surgery date and it was for June 18.  Anyway, call Mari and Wendi and start bugging them around Friday.  By then they may have the report from the shrink and you can find out if they have everything they need from everyone else.  Good luck.

I went to his seminar in mid-December and had my first appointment January 2. My surgery was February 13. Then again, I got all of my tests done as soon as I was given the go ahead and I didn't have to do a 6 month diet. Insurance took less thana  week to approve. I think scheduling isn't as quick as mine was because his practice is growing exponentially, but they are still quick! As for bugging them, I was the queen and I'm sure they wanted to strangle me at least once a day. I tried to keep my annoying calls to every other day at the most. Good luck! You're in great hands. Support group meeting is tonight if you would like to attend. There are usually both pre- and post-ops in attendance!

Mine also went really quick. I started with my testing and all in the middle of Septmeber. I had Surgery on Nov. 12th. Once they had everything in they submitted it to Insurance and actual had a date scheduled when they sent it in to insurance. It only took about 5 days for me to get my approval. Since I was already scheduled that was 5 days less of waiting.

ALso Wendi and Mari are both super nice and have never seemed to mind anytime I called them with any questions. So I am sure they won't mind if you give them a call. That is another of the good qualities of Dr. Rollers office. Not only is he an excellent surgery he also has a very wonderful and friendly staff.

My neighbor actually had her VSG done on the 19th by Dr. Roller but I haven't seen her on the board at all. I'm going to offer to pick her up and bring her tonight. Sybul - how'd you like the shrink? I hope she's fast with her report since I have to pay $500 out of pocket for it! Shouldn't I be cured of something for that much?JK! Carla - thanks for the feedback. I'll give them a call and see what they can tell me. They are just SOOO super busy now that I hate to call unless I have to. I do actually have to though 'cause hubby needs to know what's up. Ah I could tell by your pic you are a cutie for sure!  I came to his support group last month, but can't make it tonight, I want to again next month.  I am 36, 5'6 and will be 37 in Oct.  I dont even know what BMI is right now but I started at like 52 BMI, 322 and now 165 to 170 fluctuating and killing me, lol, welcome aboard! The meeting tonight was really good information. It was nice to meet Shawna and Wendi in person. I know that's a ways to come from Ft. Smith and gas is ridiculous. I hope to meet you and Carla maybe next time. You are looking great - what an awesome achievement!

BTW - How funny that we're only 3 months apart. I will be 37 at the end of August.
