OT: Dad update
on 3/30/08 2:36 am - Long Beach, CA
HI, all...I haven't updated you on Dad in a bit, and some have asked, so...
He is at home. He is off the TPN (IV food) and back to eating. I brought him his favorite Starbucks' drink on Friday for the first time in a MONTH.
He went out with my brother and had a haircut and as much of a shave as he can get with his little skin cancers.
He goes for little walks outside with mom (and me when I go). He takes his cane, and is a bit unsteady, but I see this as a positive sign of him wanting to get stronger.
On Tuesday, he will go see his oncologist and see where he stands with the cancer radiation treatments that have been postponed for this past month. Should he/can he pick up where he left off? (he had treatment #1 of 35, and then was interrupted by the stomach/feeding tube infection fiasco).
I am happy to see him at home...getting into a routine...feeling more like himself again.
He is still in a fight for his life, but so much more comfortable, and that makes a world of difference.
My family and I thank you for your prayers and support. No one will live forever, at least not in this physical world, and we know that, but we hope for dad that he has a good quality of life for as long as he is here.
thank you!!
Lori and family
I'm so glad to hear he's taking baby steps and getting stronger. It makes all the difference in getting better when you can be at home in your own bed, surrounded by your own family and "stuff".
Please tell your folks
for me, I continue to keep you all in my prayers. Praise God that your family knows the One who holds this all in His Hands. xo Kim
