Kristi!! You are going to love it here on OH! It is a great place for support, WLS education, and GREAT friends!!! I had Kaiser in San Diego, and I do know they can vary by location, but it is pretty clear cut. You have to take 24 weeks of preop classes to learn all about what to expect in your new life. It seems like a long time, but it goes fast and I really feel it is important!!! During the classes they want you to lose 10% of your weight. For us here in SD surgery was about 2 months after classes ended, but it is always different! Hope your journey is smooth!! Thank you so much for the info....I go for my first "bypass education class" on May 16th. My PCP did tell me about the 10% so I am working on that already....again thanks for the welcome and the info :o)
