Happy Saturday Cali
Happy Saturday Cali and I hope you all had a very happy and safe 4th of July!
It sounds like a lot of you had some great plans with family and friends. This is one of those holidays that is fine and stress free unlike the winter holidays.
I know I had a good time yesterday with the kids and grandbabies inspite of it being hot and humid out here. We are in a monsoonal flow pattern now....so high temps plus the humidity it is like OMG...it was like a swamp out here yesterday with a 70 degree dew point!
We swam yesterday, ate...and believe it or not...no cooking!!! I went to the store and bought deli stuff and had sandwiches, chips, dip...easy stuff. I had a lettuce sandwich....love making them like they are burritos using lettuce as the blankie!
Grandbabies were less than stellar in their behavior yesterday...having both of them teething at this same time is not exactly fun I must say.....so consequently not a lot of smiles from them yesterday, but here are some pics of them:
Hunter being Captian America
then as pool boy:
Miss AvaBear in her 4th of July party dress:
and then of course a change of clothes as dresses are not super conducive to crawling:
I never made it up to see fireworks last night and I am sure that neither of the grandbabies did. Everyone was tired from being in the pool and playing all day!
I also left in a Mustang GT last night.....I gave my son Scott my Grand Cherokee as the Mustang is the pits for a family car. That car is screaming fast and I got a lecture from my son on the phone about not peeling out in it I took over the payments on the car because I needed to help them as they would have lost high bucks on the car if they tried and traded it in. So now I have 2 black sports cars, Jeff and I both have black motorcycles and he has a black truck! Now what is up with that in the desert? BLACK?????
I hope you have read that Kim aka Madame Butterfly has done well out of her surgery although I have not heard from Kim yet, but I know I will at some point today. I am so excited for her!
Steve I/we sure hope that yesterday brought continued good news about your brother and that soon he will be coming home from the hosptial. I know he must think you are the bestest brother he could have...I know if you were my brother I sure would think so!
There are a lot of surgeries coming up this month gang and when you get a chance, take some time to support them with a well wish. I know sometimes we get a tendency to do read by's because of time constraints, but you remember how it meant the world to you when someone was kind enough to think of you! Same goes for trying to just welcome all the newbies to the boards....only takes a couple of minutes really.
Jodi....you have not been on the boards and I am concerned about you....I hope the only reason you have not been around is because you are busy with your family in a good way and doing tons of gardening! Please check in and let us know how you are!
Okay gang...start posting about how your 4th was....we all like to live vicariously through each other! Have a great day and remember to drink that H2o!

Good Morning Calif.......
Janine, Love them pics of the grandkids. WOW what lookers they are both are.
Well, I went over to my friend Kevin's house and we done a bit of work around his house and just relaxed. Then at about 2:30 he says, we need to head over to Mikes (his nephew) house for the BBQ. Like I knew what he was talking about. DUH! (His family, not mine) When we were growning up, Kevin's family always had a BBQ on the 4th, HUGH BBQ Like over 100 people. OK Mikes BBQ was much smaller but just as much fun. It really did bring back a ton of memories. Mike pit BBQ a whole pig, and when that was done, the lady's all got to pick the meat off. OHHH JOY!....OK really it was lots of fun. The men were all standing around stealling meat from us. And when we found the bacon, WOW! did that go fast, never even made it into the house. LOLOf course, just like all BBQ's there was tons of food. Dianne (Kevins niece) and I made over 10 pounds of smashed potatoes and cut up over 5 pounds of fruit and veggis. That was just what we done, everyone brought food. I told you there was way to much food. There was only about 30 poeple there, but there was not a lot of food left over.It was a great day. I am glad we went, it was fun remembering my child hood. I left Kevins at about 8 and only hit 3 check points, but got wave past all 3. Guess I don't look like I drink much. LOL
OK so take a moment and tell us all about your 4th. And what do you have planned for the weekend. ME, I get to work. OH joy!
Sending Love to all.

GREAT pix of Ava and Hunter, Janine... you must be so proud!
Yesterday went great.... had Dave and his elderly momma over for late afternoon lunch/early dinner. Had hoped that my mom and dad could make it, too, to see the many changes at my house, but Dad's just not up to it. So, I'll visit them tomorrow.
Drugged both dogs around 7pm, so they could rest easy during the noise of the night...fireworks are illegal in Long Beach...riiiiiggghhhhhttt..... sheesh... i was still hearing them go off around 2am!
Oh, and today is my three year surgiversary!! Happy Independence Day to me!

HI JANINE,AND ALL THE REST OF YOU WONDERFUL PEEPS.
YOUR GRANDKIDS ARE ADORABLE, THEY LOOK LIKE THEY ARE HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING CONCERNED ABOUT ME. I HAVE BEEN IN LIKE 6 DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS RIGHT HERE IN THE HOUSE LATLEY. MY GARDEN HAS BEEN TAKING UP TIME.. WHICH IS GOOD I GUESS CAUSE IT KEEPS ME OFF O THE COUCH, BUT THEN I DON'T GET TO READ THE OH BOARD MUCH.
ALTHOUGH BY NOT LAYING DOWN ON THE COUCH TYPING MY HANDS GET A CHANCE TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER.. THEY THINK I HAVE CARPUL TUNNEL... OMG MY HANDS AND FINGERS AND WRISTS AND SOMETIMES SHOULDERS HURT SO BAD. I HAVE BEEN ON PAIN MEDS AND TO MUCH I THINK. THAT WILL BE THE NEXT THING WE LOOK AT.
HAD A FULL DAY YESTERDAY PUTTING IN A NEW AIR CONDITIONER IN OUR BEDROOM, CAN'T LIVE WITH OUT THAT.
LIZ R. GOT ME IN TO SEE THE DR. SHE WORKS FOR. WOW WHAT A WONDERFUL DR. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE THAT IS LOOKING INTO GASTRIC SURGERY AND THEY ARE NEEDING A DR. I WOULD SUGGEST CHECKING OUT DR. YADEGAR.
HE TALKED TO ME FOR 1 1/2 HOURS AND NEVER WAS INTERUPPTED, LISTENED TO EVERYTHING I HAD TO SAY , HAD ANSWERS FOR ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. DR YADEGAR IS IN LANCASTER AND I AM IN SIMI VALLEY AND IT WAS WELL WORTH THE RIDE.
I REALLY THINK BETWEEN DR. YADEGAR, LIZ R AND HARD WORK ON MY PART I MIGHT JUST GET THIS WEIGHT OFF. HE IS A WONDERFUL MAN WITH AWESOME PATIENT SKILLS AND HE HAS A GREAT REPUTATION FOR HIS SURGERIES. LIZ WAS SO SLICK AT GETTING THIS DR. APPT. FOR ME I REALLY DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I WAS IN THE CAR TRAVELING AN HOUR WITH MY SISTER AND GOING OUT IN PUBLIC. SHE'S GOOD AT THAT. LOL
ALL IN ALL I HAVE HAD ENOUGH TO KEEP ME BUSY FOR A WHILE.. I HAVE MISSED READING THE BOARD AND CHIT CHATTING WITH EVERYONE. SO I HAD TO TAKE A MINUTE OUT AND READ AND THERE YOU WERE LOOKING FOR ME.
I HOPE YOUR ALL ENJOYING YOUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND HAD AN AWESOME 4TH OF JULY. TAKE CARE ALL AND TRY AND STAY COOL AND HYDRATED.. STEVE YOU AND YOUR BROTHER ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
