Good Morning Janine and Crew!

Happy Birthday to Janine and Sue Bee! I hope you both have fantastic days, I cannot think of two people who more deserve a great day!

I am SO TIRED today, we ended up being out til 2AM with our girlfriends last night, which was fun, but I am getting too old (LOL) for that!!

Today, I am going to do some work around the house, maybe pack a couple boxes, and wait for the cable guy...nothing huge for me.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Happy Birthday Janine, I always feel that birthdays are really a day for everyone who cares about you to show how special you are and how much they love you.. Just enjoy it all.  I can tell you are a great inspiration to many people, including myself.. Happy Birthday to sister SueBee too!

Looks like everyone had a great time at Monica's party. It is always so nice to see everyone and they all looked great. What a great group of people. It is so nice to have such a strong group of support here.

I am really surprised how good I feel after surgery on Thursday. I went for a walk this morning and will probably do the same again tonight.

Rain, send it our way... I love rain..

Happy Birthday Janine!!

Wow, woman, you are up EARLY!!!!

I'm just now working on my first cup o' Java, YUMMMMMM!!!

Have lots of plans in the works for today, fun stuff like cleaning the pond, cleaning the side yard, putting up flyers for our missing turtle, Simone *sob sob sob* amongst finishing painting the bedroom..

BUT I woke up in a lot of pain today so I hope to get at least 2 of those things done.  I really hope this pain goes away once I start losing weight!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

It is cloudy up here in northern CA such strange weather for July. I am just glad it is not in the 100's.  I hope everyone has a great day today and enjoy the cooler temps while they are here.

Good morning all.  Well, almost afternoon.  And.........I am sitting here in my jammies just having a slug day.  Jayden is in the house!  We are planning on going over to friends house later to shoot our bows and target practice along with a friendly competition.  After that chillin and relaxing in the pool.  The air quality here still sucks big time  but they're making progress on the fires.  It's been darn near a full month since they started.  I got to watch Air Force One land here at our little airport last Thursday.  It was sooooo totally cool!  From my vantage point, i couldn't see the Prez, but it was all so cool.  Hmmmmmmm, I think now I need a little nap.  Such a slug today!

Happy Birthday Janine and Sue Bee!

I hope you both have great days and that this year is your best ever.

Today, well, I haven't been sleeping well, so I got up later than I wanted to.  We received notice yesterday that they'll be doing apartment inspections (fire alarms, A/C, water heater etc) sometime between this Tuesday and Thursday.  Just what I needed ........ more fun for the week.  So I've spent the morning cleaning out the walk in closet where the water heater is, making sure the area around the A/C is clear, checking the battery in the fire alarm.

Tonight is visiting from 5 to 7 with my son.  Going to gather up his laundry and get that washed tomorrow and pack all his things.  We bought him a huge Army Surplus duffle bag and finished cleaning out his truck today.  I'm already stressing about Tuesday.  It's my younger son's birthday and I have things planned for him.  My oldest is getting out of Detox and we have to pick him up and get him settled at the Sober Living apartments.  I'm just concerned about having to be in two places at once and I don't want my youngest to feel like he's getting lost in the shuffle of everything that's been going on with his older brother.  I need to relax and know it will all work out.  DEEP BREATH.

Wednesday is Harley's birthday, so I just pray everything settles down enough by then to enjoy that.  Ok, I've rambled enough for today.

I wanted to add, I had a great time at Monica's party and I'm sorry I missed seeing Jean fall (j/k) and all the dancing and pictures at the end.  Somewhere out there I know there's a picture of Harley, Monica and I.

Have a great Sunday California!

Hi everyone,

Missed church today as I'm not feeling very well.  I'm getting so tired of "recovering" from the surgery that I know it is time to start getting outside and walking.  So, that is what I'm going to do:  get a shower, get dressed, and go for a nice walk with some water! (There, I talked myself into it.)

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since surgery.  All the incisions have healed but I still feel like there are "pinches" inside my stomach.  My doctor said I could start adding soft foods now, so I added 1 scrambled egg to my diet, had a tiny bit of melon now and then and a few bites of oatmeal.  It seems that since I added these soft foods, I have started not feeling well.  I guess I'll try more activity and see if that helps.

I was wondering if I am trying the soft foods too soon.  Does anyone know how long it takes for the "insides" to heal?  Maybe I should just stick with the shakes, broth and jello a couple more weeks until I see the doctor.  How long did it take before other people felt better as far as activities?

Hi Kelly!   I think each surgeon has their own guidelines for when they start you on different foods.  At the time I was bummed that my surgeon was conservative about moving me onto soft foods at 2 weeks out, but at the same time, I understood why.  Thought I'd lose my mind from being on clears for two weeks, but it was ok...lol  I just stuck to pintos and chees from Taco Bell as my soft foods, along with my protein drink of course.  We have to remember they literally cut our tummies not even in two, but much smaller than that, so it will take time for them to heal and be able to tolerate "tougher" foods.  I was only cleared for salads when I hit 6 months.  As a fat person you think you'll never want to see another salad again, but I was totally "jonesing" for one by the time it rolled around!  Take the food thing very slow and your body will tell you what it will handle.  Has your surgeon not given you any guidelines?   Take good care...Kim
