GOOD TUESDAY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How fun to come to the board and see the morning thread hosted by you today. Don't see you on the board much these days what with your shoulder pain. Can't wait until the day you post that you are ALL BETTER.

Can you say HOLY CRAP?!?!?!?!??
LOL
Favorite TV show? Hummmmm, that's a tough one. Probably a tie between THE CLOSER, DAMAGES, AMERICAN IDOL, GHOST WHISPERER and REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER. At least that's the list this week!
It's a Twisted Tuesday and my last day of work this week. D and I took off the rest of the week to get caught up on some chores and other matters that have been on the back burner the last month with my brothers hospital stay and passing. Have to prepare for the Celebration of Life party at our house Saturday in his honor. I have some great ideas for the guests and hope to make this a very special afternoon. What started out as a birthday celebration for my Mom, Darrell, Nephews daughter and Nieces son now includes brother Bob and that is so fitting as he never liked a fuss made about him, so he can share the spotlight this way!
Hope you, and all the Cali Crew, have a terrific day Diane! Like you said the weekend is on the horizon!

Good morning Diane and all the rest of you wonderful Calif Peeps.
It's nice to see you first thing in the middle of the night.. You have sleeping hours like me. That has to be hard on you with working and all. Kudo's to you for being able to get up and fight the working world. I just can't bring myself to do that. Wish I could but you know what they say, Wish in one hand and S%@t in the other and see which one fills up first. Sorry about that.. It's just one of those mornings for me.
I'm glad that there is only 4 days left of this week, hubby has been working way to hard. The best part about this weekend is there will be NASCAR RACING. They took a break last weekend and I was not happy about that. So we watched some of hubby's dvd's of races past that he gets with his membership to Nascar. A weekend is not a weekend with out NASCAR! Well as far as Hubby and I are concerened. When the end of the season comes we are really up a creek with out a paddle.
Today is going to be one of the days that I dread, I have to go see one of my Dr.'s today for my monthly med visit. I would rather be playing in the back yard with my flowers then going to the Dr. But this way it will be another month before I have to go again. I almost cancelled and told them that I didn't have a ride. Hubby said I was going if he had to drag me. Gotta love that man.
I'm so glad you got to attend Monica's bash, I looked at the party pictures and it looks like you all have a wonderful time. Diane you look wonderful with Doug, well you looked wonderful in the pictures with out Doug also.
Here's to a wonderful day to you and all the Cali members and the luckers too.
So glad to see you so early in the morning, and I hope you were able to get some more sleep in before you start your day.
Have an awesome day Diane and all the rest of the Cali Crew.
OMG, you are a NASCAR fan??? How great is that?? I am obsessed with it, and unfortuately, I am the ONLY one in this household that loves it. So on Sundays or whatever day the races are, I get dressed in my Dale Jr jams, my Dale Jr t-shirt and everyone leaves me alone, and it is the one day I take over the Plasma. I sit and watch, and scream and hollar, and on top of it all, I have NEVER been to a race. My dear sweet husband, was responible for making sure the raceway, California Speedway, or whatever it is now, was built to code, they offered him tickets to the opening day race and what did he do....he TURNS them down. Of course everyone else in his company got tickets and used them, but OHHHH no not my Dougie. So I sat home pissed at him. So that is on my 60th birthday wish. I would love good seats at the Speedway to see a race next year and I want Dale Jr to sign something. anything for me, saying LOVE, DALE! Can you tell I am a Dale fan. On top of all of that, the ONE day he won the race in 2 years, I was on the damn road to my sisters house and I missed it. By the time I got to her house in Chino Hills, a quick 40 minutes, the race was over, and there was nothing on who won.
OK, go good to know I have someone to chat with the races about. You take good care of yourself, and a side note, I quit my job about a month ago, At my age, I don't work with crappy people, if you can't have fun at work then why go. It's a long boring story I will tell you sometime.
Hugs to you, Diane
Oh Diane, The first thing i would have done to dear Doug well never mind
Second, sorry that your work didn't turn out but your absolutely right about work. If you can't have fun than why go. I'm glad to hear that your home during the day and can enjoy time trials and such,
Hubby got me into the racing scene when we were first married almost 39 news ago this Sept. He drove drag cars and then went into demolition derby then into stock car driving then figure 8 and sportsman at the same time out at Saugus Speedway. Daves carrer ended when he hit the wall head on at about 65 miles an hour during practice and total the car.
Unfortunately the guy that Dave drove for was more concerned with his car then Dave. It was his pit crews fault that is happened anyway. They were all drinking the night before and working on the car at the same time and tightened the air cleaner down so tight that when Dave stomped on the excellerater it got caught and into the wall he went.. That was the end of racing for him. But I tell you it stays in the blood.
When we first started It was always so much more fun when we paid for the car ourselves, until the first night of figure 8 and Dave forgot it was the brand new race and forgot to turn into the 8 and kept going around the back as if it was circle racing and the flag man just thought Dave had car trouble and went down the back stretch until Dave kept going and it was to late to throw the red flag and the whole pack of cars ran head on into Dave... omg what a mess that was.. over his car under his car and even tried to go through his car. He did survive of course as we are still married, only a broken bone in his nose from the helmet visor when the windshield came in and hit the visor and a fractor bone in his arm.
They didn't know wheather to take the ambulance to him or me in the stands. Well Dave just jumped out of the car and threw his helmet at the car and started to light up a cig and they are all yelling at him don't light it your car is leaking gas everywhere... the only piece that survived that wreck was the trunk deck and it was painted so neat, so we kept it and hung it in the garage.
We had another car ready the next week. and that's when the announcer gave him his name of WRONG WAY WILLARD..to this day people still call him that. our last name is WILLARD.. I bet you guessed that.. lol
We did that for the first 20 years of our married life. We would go to Riverside speedyway to watch the big guys run and Ontario Motorspeedway. Unfortunately those are gone now. Thank god for California speedway.
Dave (hubby) has been to California Speedway 3 times and unfortunately I didn't go due to my agoraphobia that had developed over the last 15 years. He went with my son and son in-law and that sat on the front straight away just at turn 4. He was right straight from the big vision tv thingy..
I forget what they call that big tv and he could see the entrance to pit row. He loved those seats.. You should go for your birthday for sure. Heck we almost went and did the 3 day deal with the motorhome but I just couldn't bring myself to go.. Damn that makes me so mad. I am missing out on so much. Dave is so good to me. He is always asking me to go places with him, he says anywhere you want.. I can't do it.
I know I am in for trouble come Sept as he want's to take me to Laughlin for our 39th anniversary. We use to go all the time and had a ball. His mom has a house boat at katherines landing about 10 minutes away from Laughlin and it's so much fun. But things just changed so drasticaly when both my parents died within a year of each other.
Well enough Of that. I'm so glad to know that your a NASCAR nut too. I just love it. My first fav was Cale Yarborough, then Darrel Waltrip. Then Rusty Wallace, but when ( now don't beat me about the head and shoulders..) Jeff Gorden came on the scene I just knew he was a natural.
He has had his share of great luck but lately he is either just out or sucks completly. I really think he's a talented driver. I really like Dale Jr. also. I loved his dad as far as his driving skills.. but he always struck me as being to busy for his fans for some reason. Tony Stweart is the same way. I think his anger management courses are wearing off... I was so glad when Dale Jr. got out from underneath of Terresa. Dales going to do great now.
My sister is a NASCAR nut also. She's like you, shes' the only one in her house that likes it so everyone better leave or don't breathe while she is watching it. lol
Well now that I have totally type your eyes out of your head I don't know what got into me, wow I haven't talked about that in a long time. Sorry I rambled so long.
I better get back to my grand daughter. A 2 1'/2 year old only sits so long watching Dora the explorer and Mickey Mouse.
Take Care and enjoy your freedom from work.
Have a wonderful afternoon and evening.
Then, a couple of days later baldy was telling me how much he loved and appreciated me. I looked at him and asked........When was the last time you gave me flowers? We laughed because it had been a while. He usually gives me the unusual. A flat for my flower garden, a wheelbarrow full for the yard, or (the best) 7 GIANT silk flowers on Mother's Day (one for each kid).
Off to call the dentist. When you have to take a vicoden to sleep because your teeth hurt where they worked on them something is wrong!
Went to the gym at 5:45 this morning. Did 50 mins of run walk. After 30 mins, I cranked up the speed and ran for 11 1/2 mins str8; then had to take a walk break. Definately moving ahead with how I feel and how far I can go. CAn't wait for the 5K.
