Who's Exercising?

I exercise for my heart...Had a minor heart attack in July.  I try and walk or ride my bike everyday.  I usually do at least 45 minutes per day.  I push myself (even when I don't feel like it) for my heart...and if I have cheated with carbs and such.  I dropped the gym membership a few months ago...my family and I just weren't useing it.  So what I do (esp when the wife and daughter are out of the house)...walk in the house.  I put on some old rock music: Rod Stewart, Bruce Hornsby, Christopher Cross, Randy Stonehill...and just walk around my little path between the kitchen and the living room.  Very boring but it works for me.  On sunny days I am outside on my bike or walking my normal paths.  On work days I am walking 3-4 miles a day...so I feel that counts for something.  Brian

Brian, sounds more like "rock the house" instead of wallk the house. LOL
Reasons to excersice
1) It makes me feel good (get rid of depression)!
2) builds muscles(muscles burn more FAT)!!
3) I am sick and tired of having surgery and hope this will stop some of it ( ( in the last 5 years).

What do I do whatever it takes to get my butt moving free weights.

I have a gym membership, loved going there ( they are now going out of business). But the cost and drive there was killing me so I had to drop it going! I am going to be checking out the one that issn't so far away,

Good for you Brian....About 10 years ago when I was doing this aerobic class, there was a gentleman that was towards the front room and as we did the high impact aerobic, he would shout out...."good for the heart"!....."good for the heart"!....."good for the heart"!

So when I'm pumped up at the gym and sweating my A$$ off, I think of that man shouting out "good for the heart"!....and boy does it give me a rush!

Great post!!! What motivates me to exercise?

1. I know if I don't I will put back on all the weight I lost.
2. It feels great when my muscles are pumped full of blood!!
3. It feels good knowing I just ran 4+ miles with no problem.
4. Lastly I exercise because I still love to eat!!!

Derby Day 5k is on April 4th if anyone interested in running??

High five on #4!  Yup....If I know I was bad during the day, I throw in additional minutes of cardio.....I know exactly what you're talking about.

Yeah....I do remember.....and it sucked!  LOL  But I'm thinking I need the challenge right about now....you know what I'm talking about!  Are you going to give me a handicap this year since I haven't really been running?  Huh??????

I find exercise works better for me if I am doing something I love and have goals. So when I figured skated, I would test and compete and that gave me deadlines and something to work for.

So now I've got this bug to do a triathlon and that has really motivated me to up my exercise and not to slack off. But I'm only in the gym two days a week. The rest of the time I'm doing coached group workouts with my triathlon club and various clinics.
