Last year a number of OH'ers entered the Santa Anita Derby 5k.  We had a blast!! Well it's coming around again and I want to enter once more because this was one of my official first races.  Last year my finishing time was about 54 minutes, I know I can knock off AT LEAST 10 minutes if not 15.

Want to place bets on me like a pony? ;)

Want to give it a try??!?!  It's on Saturday April 4th.  http://www.kinaneevents.com/EVENTS/SA/index.htm

Even if you're not up to a running pace you can walk the 3.1 miles in just under an hour if you walk briskly. The route winds through the LA Arboretum and you finsh on the track at Santa Anita.

It's such a fun event and after you run your entry fee pays for your admission to the park to watch the horses race for the Santa Anita Derby.

So come on, who's in?.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

How are 'the girls'???

This sound like fun.  Lu never told me about this one.  I can do 5K.  So for today I am not speaking to Lu.    I may just join you, but I won't know till after Thursday.

Hi Monica,

I would love to, but my DH and I will be on a two vacation...(
Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington DC).  I will defiantly do the next one with you.  I'll be thinking of you all...Also, I am sure you can knock off time from last year...You have done so well with all your other 5/10k.

Have fun!!!

Michele
