Just noticed something on the website....there are TWO 1/2 marathons.  One is the first half of the marathon, the other is the 2nd half of the marathon.  The second half has a 16:01 per mile cutoff!  So....there ya go!!!  Do it!!!!!!!

When given a choice between the two halves, I really want to run the first.  It begins at the Embarcaderro, crosses over the Golden Gate Bridge and ends in Golden Gate Park...it's also much flatter than the second half that runs through the city. I'm still thinking about it...I'm also wondering how will I feel about flying home after running 13 miles.

You gonna join me?

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Sure, I'll join you....but you gotta start running faster then so we can do the 1/2!!!  :-P

You'll feel fine flying home....we did after the San Jose 1/2.

I should be up for a half around then.  Did the SF Half in Nov last year, ran across the GG bridge and back...awesome course, bu****ch out for the hills as you get close to the bridge.

I would love to run chicago, but its cheaper to fly to SFO than the windy city.

Do you know how HOT Chicago is in August??????   If not, just think back to the heat wave they had during the Chicago Marathon a couple years ago.  Remember??  People were  and dehydrated so they weren't !!!  LOL

Check this out about Chicago in August!!!  http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/monthly/graph/U SIL0225?from=36hr_bottomnav_undeclared

To sum it up...average temp is mid 80's, with an average rainfall of almost 4 inches in August.  That equals major humidity......yuck!

I'll pass on Chicago in August.....that's even WORSE than L.A. in May!!!!!

Although.....Chicago in October is sounding tempting......lol
