Happy Hump Day!  Good Morning everyone!  I am down 1 pound.  Still moving slowly in the right direction but the closer I get to goal the more diligent I am getting!

Excellent chat with Rhonda last night!  Had to cut it short as the old man was coming for his dinner and since I only get 20 minutes with him a night.............. he won!    Can't wait for our visit.  I think we could talk for DAYS and not cover all the subjects we have in common!

Went looking for plane tickets last night and if I fly into Ontario the cost is up over $225 and I have to fly to Phoenix before I get to Ontario and it takes over 4 1/2 hours.  What is up with that?  I can fly to LAX from Redding for $225 and it takes an hour and a half.  Heck, I'll do that and take a bus to Ontario!   Flying from Redding to Ontario is over $450.  Flying from Sac to LAX is $166.  So....... I'll be making my ticket purchase here soon from Redding (saves me 3 hour drive plus long term parking at $12 a day) to LAX.  More details later

I went and exercised last night and then crawled into bed.  Today...........much of the same.   Move paper here at work, feed the old man, exercise and then bed.  I did take my wedding set into the jewlery store to get sized.  It's going down almost a full size from an 8 to a "heavy" 7.

Off and running

Good Morning Janine and Cali Crew!!

The 5-DPT has me down 8lbs. I was just hoping to get the scale moving down again. I did'nt think I would have such a jump in weight loss. But it goes to show that eatting right and exercise does work. I'll be enjoying my soft protein today!!

Have a great day!!

Hi Kevin,

What is the 5-DPT?  I am thinking that is what I need to jumpstart my weight loss.

Congratulations to your loss.  I know you feel good about that.

Hey Kimmie!!

It does feel good to have some control back what I eat!!

THE FIVE DAY POUCH TEST
Day 1 and 2: Liquid Protein
Low-carb protein shakes, broth, clear or cream soups, sugar-free gelatin and pudding

You can have as many low-carb protein shakes as you like to satisfy hunger or cravings. The purpose of all liquids is to break any snacking, grazing or processed carbohydrate habits. In addition the liquids will work to cleanse your system and prepare you for the following three days.

Try to reduce your caffeine intake as well, but do not stop caffeine cold turkey or you will feel sick and frustrated potentially losing the desire to continue with the pouch test.

RULES: It is very important to drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day. This will prevent dehydration, will help curb cravings and will flush your body of toxins and fat. Sufficien****er intake improves kidney function and cell processes.

Day 3: Soft Protein

Canned tuna or salmon
Eggs cooked as desired.
Fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, orange roughy) - baked or grilled, and lightly seasoned.

RULES: You get to eat as much as you want as often as you want. You only get 15 minutes each time you sit down to eat. No drinking 30 minutes before or after meals and no drinking with your food. A dry pouch will hold your soft protein longer helping your to feel full and fed longer.

Day 4: Firm Protein

Ground meat (beef, turkey, lamb) cooked dry and lightly seasoned, shellfish, scallops, lobster steamed and seasoned only with lemon, salmon or halibut steaks, grilled and lightly seasoned.

RULES: You get to eat as much as you want as often as you want. You only get 15 minutes each time you sit down to eat. No drinking 30 minutes before or after meals and no drinking with your food. A dry pouch will hold your soft protein longer helping your to feel full and fed longer. Remember to drink plenty of water between meals.

Day 5: Solid Protein

White meat poultry or pork cooked dry and lightly seasoned, beef steak grilled or broiled.

RULES: Remember to chew chew chew. Measure your portion (4-6 ounces) and eat only until you feel your pouch tighten. Remember, only 15 minutes per meal, so you'll have to work fast to chew your food completely. No drinking 30 minutes before or after meals and no drinking with your food. Don't go hungry! Remember, you can eat as often as you want as long as it is solid protein, consumed without liquids and measured in 4-6 ounce portions.

Good Morning Janine and Cali,

WOO HOO!!!!!  I made it.  I officially under 160.  I lost 1 pound this week.  So far I have lost a total of 91lbs.  I only have about 20-25 more to go.  I just can't beleieve it.  I have gone from a size 22 down to a 10.  I'm still in shock.... I still keep thinking I'm going to wake up tomorrow and be fat again.  Even with my complications .....This tool rocks!!!!!

I also wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone on this site.  You all are so wonderful. The encouragement and support you give me is so amazing.  It's so nice to be able to come to this board and know that everyone on here has experienced so many of the same things both preop and post op.

Have a great Wednesday everyone

Thanks Rhonda,

You too are looking Hot!  Isn't this the best feeling in the world.  I go get "stretched" on April 7th.  Whats really cool, is I am the person at work, that I used to hate.  Hehe  I am the one who is the cheerleader.  I gather a group of about 10 people and make them get up and go walk with me.  I just took a break....walked 1.25 miles and climbed 7 flights of stairs (twice)

I would never had been able to do this before surgery.  My asthma would have killed me.  Now I don't even use an inhaler.

I can't wait to see you again and to be able to meet Mo.  I may even have to buy a pair of Red jeans for the occasion.

LOL
