I'm looking for a new PCP. I like the one I have but he doesn't seem to understand the issues I may face due to intestinal malabsorption. I need a doctor who is knowledgeable on WLS and pro-active with treating any deficiencies.

Anybody have one they really like in this area?

I live in South Pasadena. My PCP is Dr. Ronald Olah. He's fantastic, but not terribly familiar with WLS, sorry.

Sorry to say this but I don't think many PCPs are going to know about the needs of WLS patients let alone DS patients. If you like the doctor you have now, maybe  you can bring printouts in with you and info about supplemental needs of DSers and you may be surprised at what your doctor is willing to learn.

My current PCP is against WLS in general, but has agreed to do my follow up with me when I finally get my DS.  From my years of research on this I think the best info you will get  is from the DS board and Vitalady. I think  it will be pretty hard for you to find a PCP who has had more than 1 year (if that) of nutrition and supplement education. Most surgeons dont even know what we should be taking. You really need to advocate for yourself and track your own labs.
