Good Thuirsday Morning Cali
Good Thursday Morning Cali!!!! Best part of today is that tomorrow is TGIF and I am sure you all are preparing from a very happy weekend!
Today is my 26th wedding anniversary which I can hardly believe! I can still say that I would marry Jeff over and over again. One of the biggest decisions I ever made in my life that I have never once have regretted. I wish we could go out and celebrate, but that is not going to happen today...maybe sometime down the road, but I do not feel too terribly attractive bound and a lot of nasty swelling and bandages! Before I had my surgery, I went to our dentist and got Jeff a certificate for that zoom whitening thing and can hardly wait for him to come home today and see his bright white teeth!! He has beautiful teeth, but years and coffee has taken their toll. He is gonna look like a new man! I am excited for him...that was his anniversary present!
I am feeling pretty good. The pain does not let me go far past the prescribed pain pill dosage time. I tried really hard yesterday, but it only managed to make me feel worse. I am bored silly as it is hard for me to do anything with not being able to move my arms a great deal.I forget and make one false move and then OMG.Like the other day when Rhonda went and got us yogurt and I ate some then put the rest in the freezer. Later I went back to get more and when I tried to get the lid off, I jerked it and socked myself in the stomach....I saw stars!!! I think Rhonda did too!
I have tried to read some the WWW. I think Barb is pitch hitting for Chris on the numbers this week and please whoever is counting don't count this surgery bloat weight with the numbers because it is not fair to the total that we are going for at the end of the year!
Tim...how cool is that you broke the 3's that is exciting and we are all going to look forward to you shouting out that you have broken the 2's also. Keep up the hard work!
Barb you are doing so awesome!!!! I look forward to the day we can meet.I am thinking of crusing on up there this summer for sure!
Stacie Z so happy to see you posting on the boards and you looked great in that picture with Bret Michaels....hubba hubba girl!!!1
Josie...you are going great!!!! 3 pounds...way cool. I know that it is difficult to get up and get going in the morning for most people, but you will get the hang of it. Please stick around and let us support you....I am happy to see you back!
Michele...wow 4 pounds while you were gone!!! You rock girl. I hope it is just not because you are not feeling well and the gb thing.I am telling you get it out....I had mine out when I was 20. YOu will feel a lot better and they do not make those barbaric scars like like they did 35 years ago! Glad you are home and I bet your granddaughter was thrilled that you were!
Dawn dont trip...you know how weight can bounce around minute to minute even. I hope you can get some relief with your neck!
Hey MoMo you are doing great....before you know it, you will be at goal! Hey I pulled my rugs up in my house...ask Rhonda and I stained all the slabs. They look awesome. I had never done anything like it. I got a lesson from the guy at Lowe's and never looked back...I did it my way after the first one....they have really cool patterns in them because I floated colors together!!!! Have fun doing it!
Hey Steph....how are you doing with the Lindora program and how are you feeling?

Hey Katt you know that even though the scale is not moving and you're doing what you are supposed to be doing, the weight is eventually going to start coming off again. How did things go with the job fair?
Naomi...don't be tripping little one....I think you look fantastic and you always work so hard....I would definitely say water weight!
Kim....hang in there girl....the numbers will go in the opposite direction.
Rhonda...I do think you need to up your intake of food. I know that it is hard to do so, but I think if you up it the protien especially, you will see those numbers drop radically!!! Thanks for everything again. Maybe I will work on your can today!
Woowooh Heather....5 pounds that is awesome!!!

Hello Janine……..Not really MIA, just don’t have the time any more. When I get home from work, I want to go right to bed. After working 12 hours, I have nothing left for anything. Gosh I hate them 12 hours shift.
This weekend, my nephews are going to run with me for their first race. One has been out running every day. The other one says he is just going to walk. I think it will be fun to do this with them. One nephew is going into the Marines (John) in July and the other one already has a job with the City of Riverside (Richard) and will start working/going to school in July. Richard interviewed for this program with the city where they hire 4 kids and train them for position with the water works or Power department. Out of all the kids that interviewed. (12 at his school alone) he was picked. WOW!! Never would have thought that would happen. I am so happy and proud of him all at the same time. Both boys are doing great and my niece (Amy) already works for the county of Riverside.
OK I need stop bragging about them and get my self into the shower and start my day. I wish you all a great day.
Be safe. Be smart.
Take care, Lu
Lou.
Hi ya....
I don't know about you, but like so many others here, I was able to work and lose the wieght with out much trouble, but after a little while I would get bored with dieting all the time and the wieght would come back and them some just for luck. I hated it.
I still have to work hard to keep the weight off, but its some much easier with the help of the RNY.
Good luck either way.
Lu
Congratulations on a fantastic weight loss; I'll say you must have made a MAJOR life style change to lose 57lbs! Way to go ^_^
Now, you asked so I'll give my 2cents worth LOL While I would do the WLS (RNY) again in a heart beat, it is not for everyone. I have discovered for myself there is alot of 'giving up' my favorite foods, either I can't eat them (grouchy pouchy) or they just don't taste good anymore :-( Eating out isn't as much 'fun' as it use to be...I hate wasting money paying full price and then only being able to eat a very small portion of what I get...my dogs! get a better meal than me sometimes LOL
But! In spite of any small grumbles I might have, I know myself that if I had lost the weight without this tool, sometime down the road I would pile it back on plus! I am/was a snacker and I love the fast food places; my RNY makes me pause and think before I put food in my pouch (notice I didn't say my MOUTH!). It has become my 'self discipline/will power' tool and I value it sooo much ^_^
I applaud your honesty; WLS is not for everyone but for those who are committed and follow the 'rules', the results and rewards are fantastic. Which ever way you decide to go...you can always find encouragement, support and help here....we support everyone who wants to have a healthy and better future! Good Luck to you, Lou..keep posting! ^_^

Here's my take on it. I have "dieted" before and was able to loose weight, but in the blink of an eye I could gain it back. I LOVE that now my having the VSG allows me to live a normal life with a tool that will HELP me to continue my healthy lifestyle.
My stomach is considerably smaller and I'm almost NEVER hungry.
Not to say that you will gain the weight back, but WLS for me helps me to keep it off.
Ms Shell
Happy Anniversary!! 26 years is great. I only made it to 15 years...lol. You take it easy there and be careful. I know how boring it is not being able to do anything but it is only temporary.
Thank you for the shout out. I know I haven't been posting like I should. I guess I am just a little disappointed in myself for never getting close to goal. I know if I worked at it I could probably lose some more of this weight but it is hard. Bad habits returning and depression does take its tole. I am hoping to get back here to some support and maybe get back on some kind of track. I need to have some surgery done but just can't right now. I have a hernia from my ulcer surgery a couple of years ago and it is getting pretty big but I can't afford to take the time off of work right now.
WOW, Happy Anniversary Janine! I think it's great that you would marry Jeff all over again. I feel the same way about Sam but we are only coming up on 5 years the end of June. Please try to take it easy. Think of everything you would tell one of us about healing from major surgery and apply it to yourself. LOL
Today is busy at work, followed by a birthday dinner for my good friend Charla. Tomorrow is Sammi's best friends birthday and the weekend is already booked up too.
The house hunt is at a standstill. Our last offer was rejected and there isn't anything on the market in our price range we're interested in, so we wait. I hate waiting, it makes me crazy..........
I better get a move on, hope everyone has a great day!
Sue

Good Morning Janine and Cali Crew,
Thanks for the shout out. I did another 30 minutes on the walking track yesterday. I was seriously considering blowing it off so I could get other things done in the office, but decided it was more important that I get into the habit of walking every day.
Yesterday I left work early to take my car in…it has been making this weird sound…couldn’t decide if it was the muffler or the wheels. So I decided to take it to the wheel shop and good thing I did…three of my tires were separating…showing the metal mesh under the rubber. I’m lucky they didn’t blow out on the freeway. The tire guy profusely apologized for them not catching the problem on Saturday when I originally took my car in to them. Well, I coughed up the cash for four new tires and with the nice discount it wasn’t as big of a blow to my wallet as I thought it would be.
Today I’ll be sitting around reading while the air conditioning guys install new duct work in our renovated facility. I can’t wait until we can turn that baby on. LOL! Well, time to go open up the building. You all have a great day.
Take Care,
Are you sure this will work?
